No one is saying she can’t act. most of the things you wrote probably applies to almost all the actresses because…
Bro, that message was not about the drama or the novel itself. It was only for the people who keep saying, “She can’t act,” “She’s a crown princess,” or “She only has popularity.” That’s it.

And when people say she’s popular but “not that popular outside China” — okay, fine. But that’s not the point. This novel was always going to be controversial if it got adapted into a drama. No matter who they cast, the actress would face backlash.

If they cast a traffic actress like Dilraba Dilmurat, people would say she’s too old or too overexposed.
If they cast a younger actress like Ai Mi, people would question how she could handle a romance-heavy role.

It honestly depends on people’s mindset. They’ll always find something to criticize.

As a fan, I actually don’t even want her to take this role. She already faced so much hate from the novel fans before, and I don’t want her to go through that again. But I also know she may not have full control — managers and agencies sometimes push these decisions.

If she does take it, I know she’ll face hate again, especially from CP fans and other fandoms. As a fan, I can only pray she gets less hate this time and stays strong. That’s all.

Some people claim that actresses only get roles based on current popularity, but do you actually know what Meng Ziyi went through before she became popular? She faced so much hate from C-netizens, including death threats, because of the backlash from The Untamed. For two years, she didn't have a good life because of that. You know how toxic the industry can be. She faced a mountain of hate, but she proved to those same netizens who she really is and what her real personality is like.
She has come a long way from hate to love. People act like she has done 10+ lead dramas to get here, but do you know how few main roles she has actually had? Between 2020 and 2025, she only had about five aired lead roles. In Shopping Addict and Legend of Two Sisters in the Chaos, she was still facing heavy backlash and couldn't even appear properly in the media. After that, she had to take supporting roles just to work her way back to a main role.
When Royal Rumors came out, it was an A-level production that C-netizens finally appreciated. Then she got In Blossom as a lead and received even more appreciation. She also filmed The Princess's Gambit before the success of In Blossom. Even then, people hated on her for her makeup, her looks, or said she just "opened her eyes wide and did nothing." Yet, that drama was popular in Mainland China and liked by family audiences.
International fans often don't know what she went through. They never look beyond the "reel." If you really see her, you understand. Some call her pretentious, but how long can someone stay pretentious? She is very loyal to her friends, very kind, and very strong. After the negative feedback, she didn't hide; she stood her ground and improved herself.
You can see her improvement in variety shows. C-netizens started liking her because she learns from her mistakes and tries to be better. She isn't the type of actress who is "multi-talented" in singing or dancing, and she openly accepts that she can't do those things well—but she tries. She tries to learn and improve for the fans.
Finally, if you call her a "Crown Princess" or a "popular actress," you have to realize she faced everything in the industry to get there. She moved from being hated to being loved. I feel like the toxicity doesn't just come from the industry, but from toxic fans too.Sometimes I feel like not only the Chinese industry is toxic, but even some C-drama fans can be toxic too. I am not asking anyone to like or support her. I am just asking people to respect her hard work and speak politely when talking about her. If you don’t like her or her acting, just ignore her and comment on the rest. If you don’t like her acting, it’s okay because she is not a top-notch actress, but she is not as bad as people mention either. In my opinion, no actress is completely top-notch because everyone has flaws. At some point, we may not feel their acting is fully natural or real.
And I request, in the name of opinions, please don’t hate or say that they can’t act. For example, if you are working or a student and you work so hard on your project for your manager or professor, and you give your best, how would you feel if someone said you are completely bad at what you do? You people answer this question.
In the same way, don’t say such things about their hard work. I am not only saying this on behalf of Meng Ziyi; I am saying this for any actress in that place. We just need to be polite. That’s it.

Its not wang hedi's mistake and mengziyi mistake its the mistake of productio who wanted wang hedi from 2022 ...elders…
Her character, a doctor from the Wen clan, is actually pretty great! 🩺 But, she's getting a lot of hate online because fans feel she got more screen time than in the novel.

Actually, she faced huge backlash after The Untamed, which is one of the biggest and most viewed dramas in mainland China. In that drama, she played the role of Wen Qing, and she received an unbelievable amount of hatred.
Some people accused her of getting extra scenes with the main leads because of “connections” with powerful people in the production team. There were even disgusting rumors, like claiming she must have slept her way into those scenes. None of it was proven, but the accusations spread everywhere.
She was also criticized for something as small as her nail polish in a costume drama. Her nail color was just a light peach shade, yeah at that time there is rule of no nail color rule in costume drama
On top of that, she was attacked with horrible comments—people calling her arrogant, ugly, and even spreading rumors that she had tumors or had plastic surgery. The online hate became extreme.
Because of all this backlash, she stayed out of the spotlight for almost two years and mostly appeared in variety shows during that period. At that time, she was an upcoming rising star, but the rumors and negativity affected her career a lot.
In 2021, she joined the variety show Wonderland, and through each season, she slowly proved what kind of person she really is. People started appreciating her personality, her straightforwardness, and how genuine she seemed.
Instead of immediately getting lead roles, she worked through many supporting roles. One of the notable ones was Royal Rumours, a well-received A-level drama with 24 episodes, which helped her regain public support.
Then, finally, she got her breakthrough with Blossom.
She has repeatedly said that she only followed the script during The Untamed and never used any inappropriate connections, but back then, no one wanted to listen. After the success of Blossom, she said the same thing again.
And honestly, my point is simple: if she truly had powerful connections, she wouldn’t have suffered so much after the backlash. She wouldn’t have had to struggle through years of hate and supporting roles. If she really had that kind of influence, she would have easily continued getting major lead roles without going through all of this.

“I really hope when it airs, there won’t be any clash with a high-budget drama. I heard that Mo Li might air in June, and I honestly don’t want that to happen. Since Mo Li is an S+ drama and this one is an A+ drama, it would be tough if they air at the same time. Please, no… I really hope they don’t overlap.”

This is a completely female-centric novel. It's completely unfair that become equal between male and female actors…
Its not wang hedi's mistake and mengziyi mistake its the mistake of productio who wanted wang hedi from 2022 ...elders where asking him to do he has no choice ...I think even meng ziyi too she was pushed by her manager to do this project ...cause according to mengziyi personality she never want get again a backlash

Oh goodie. Meng Zi Yi with the same facial expression she's had in every scene in every single one of her dramas.…
Bro, honestly, I really hope you don’t watch Ziyi’s upcoming dramas if you already don’t like her, and that’s totally fine.
But please don’t be the kind of person who watches just one episode and then starts judging the actress and badmouthing her everywhere.
People like you come, watch one scene, and then go into the comment section saying she can’t act in every single drama.
Broo… why?
If you already decided to hate her, then better don’t watch her dramas at all. We honestly don’t need viewers like that who only spread negativity.

Can I ask you something… how many dramas of Meng Ziyi have you actually watched?
Like seriously, how many?
Bro, why are people judging her just by watching one drama?
Does she repeat the same actions in every single drama she does? No, right?
Think properly before speaking.
Stop forming opinions based on one episode or one role.
And please stop comparing her with other actresses all the time.

Hi everyone,
Today is my birthday 🎂✨ and I have one special wish on my special day.

I want to share my feelings and love towards Meng Ziyi. This post is only for the people who truly support and appreciate her.
If you dislike her, that is completely your choice, but please don’t leave any negative comments here.
On the eve of my birthday, I kindly request everyone to respect my feelings and keep this space positive.

Now, coming to how I started liking her…

I started watching C-dramas and K-dramas in 2021. As someone from India, my journey began with Love O2O. Slowly, I became more interested in Chinese dramas, and then I discovered Meng Ziyi.

At first, I liked her acting, but over time, I realized that I admire her for much more than that — I love her personality, her kindness, and the person she is.

Whenever I watch a drama, I usually respect every actress because I know everyone works hard. I also love learning about actors beyond the screen, so I often search about their previous dramas, variety shows, interviews, and their journey. I use platforms like YouTube and MDL to know more.

That’s exactly what happened when I watched Blossom. I researched the cast, and the more I learned about Meng Ziyi, the more she touched my heart.

For me, Meng Ziyi has taken a special place — not only because of her acting, but because of her story and personality.

Many people don’t look at an artist’s background or how much effort it took for them to reach where they are today. But I do.

She feels like someone relatable… like an average student in a class who is trying hard to prove herself. Maybe not perfect, maybe not the most naturally gifted, but someone who truly gives her best.

Meng Ziyi is not just an idol to me — she is someone who genuinely tries, improves, and keeps going despite setbacks. That is what inspires me the most.

What inspires me the most about Meng Ziyi is her career journey.

She didn’t start as a superstar. She began with supporting roles, slowly working her way up. Around 2016–2018, she was becoming a rising star, and she even got opportunities in a very big S+ project. But instead of that making her life easier, she faced a huge backlash and humiliation.

In my opinion, if she really had strong influence or “background power,” she would have become instantly famous and untouchable. But that didn’t happen. Instead, she went through years of mixed reviews and criticism.

After that backlash, she got a couple of main roles, but because of the hate and negativity surrounding her, those dramas didn’t receive the appreciation they could have. Still, she never gave up.

What did she do?

She stepped back again and took many supporting roles — almost six. That alone shows her perseverance. She didn’t act like she was above anything. She kept working, kept learning, and kept improving.

Even in variety shows, she received unnecessary hate, with people calling her “low EQ” or judging her personality. But honestly, when I watched her, I saw someone sweet, kind, and genuine. Her clumsiness, her smartness, and her realness made me like her even more.

Then finally, she got another main role, even if it was in a lower-budget historical drama. It may not have reached a huge international audience, but she still performed well and proved herself again.

And then came Blossom — where she was truly amazing.

So many people keep saying she “can’t act,” but I disagree. She may not be “perfect” or “top-notch” in everyone’s eyes, but she is good, and most importantly, she keeps improving.

In Chinese dramas, no actor is flawless. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Acting doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. If everyone acted identically, what would even be the difference?

The problem is that people always compare actresses to their own favorites, and that’s unfair.

She was also good in Princess Gambit. Her cold character was meant to be that way, but some people didn’t understand it.

I even heard that the Blossom producers noticed her after watching her in Legend of Heroes, and that’s why they wanted her for the role. So clearly, professionals see her potential.

For me, Meng Ziyi’s journey is inspiring because she faced hate, setbacks, and criticism — but she kept going, kept growing, and kept proving herself step by step.

That’s why I admire her so much.

I have watched Meng Ziyi’s journey from being a rising star, to doing supporting roles again, from B-level projects to A-level, then S-level dramas. Step by step, she has kept moving forward.

I really hope one day she can get a true S+ project again, but more than that, I hope she can receive less hate. Her journey has been extremely tough, and even now she is still facing unnecessary negativity.

After doing so many historical dramas, she is now taking on a modern drama like San Xian Mi Hui. I feel this is a very good step, because modern dramas can help her gain more recognition, especially internationally. I truly hope this drama reaches a wider audience and brings her the appreciation she deserves.

And I am eagerly waiting for Blossom of power to become a huge success. The cast and crew worked so hard, yet some people still choose to hate instead of giving her a fair chance.

People forget that she is not someone who has been doing main roles consistently for years to become fully “stable” in the industry. She had to go through so much — backlash, setbacks, criticism — and still she never stopped trying.

If you really observe her, you can clearly feel her kindness, softness, and sincerity.

Sometimes she seems a little less confident when talking with male colleagues, and I think it’s because she understands how harsh the industry can be. She has already faced so much, so she becomes careful and guarded. That itself shows how deeply her experiences affected her.

Honestly… I am so attached to her. She is in my prayers all the time. I genuinely wish for her to become successful, popular, and most importantly, to receive less hate.

And finally, I wish and hope all the luck in the world gathers around her. May this year bring Meng Ziyi a lot of success. She should get more variety, less hate, and more love.

Ziyi fighting 💖🌸

I’m not saying she needs to become the biggest superstar overnight. I just want her to be happy, peaceful, and confident.

I want her to feel free — to speak with whoever she wants, to do whatever she wants, without hesitation or fear.

To me, she is not just an actress. She is a good friend who always supports her friends in the industry, and even like a cool big sister to the juniors.

Note (Important):
I mainly want to say this not only for Meng Ziyi, but for every actress.

You can support your favorite actress, but that doesn’t mean you should criticize other actresses in the name of opinions.

Please don’t compare actresses with each other. Everyone has their own uniqueness.
If you don’t like someone, don’t go into that actress’s space and spread negativity.

Respect is the most important thing fans should have.

Then you say who would fit in this role ??
And you forgot one thing — Shen Miao needs big almond-shaped eyes, okay? 😅
Of course, this is totally your opinion, and I respect that.
But honestly, I’ve read the novel, and when I was reading it, I always imagined Meng Ziyi as Shen Miao. That’s actually one of the reasons I became so attached to the story.
Your actress choices are also really good because they’ve already portrayed characters who start off cute and innocent, and later become mature and strong in their previous dramas.
But as a Meng Ziyi fan, I truly believe she can pull off a mature role too. We’ve already seen her in revenge and serious plots, and she has the potential.
Still, I really want Meng Ziyi because I support her and hope she gets this chance. I know how much she has gone through in her career — staying strong in the Chinese industry is not easy at all.
At least through this role, she could gain more recognition. I’m really hoping for the best, and I believe she can do it.
