ik they don't get together till late in series but for all 30 eps are they enemies and then suddenly become lovers…
They have chemistry the whole time. It's enemies to allies to friends to lovers. Most of the time they are too focused on resolving the political intrigue, so they are not aware of their attraction to one another, but other characters make remarks about it behind their backs.
yeah, good for her. but is that satisfying to watch? didn't the ending rise a question ''if only ''? if you're…
Yes, it is satisfying to watch because the ML is a true psycho who was obsessed with her, but power was more important for him and he had killed everyone she ever cared about and used the FL to do it. This is an issue that can never be resolved between them, she cannot live alongside the man who killed her family and exterminated her maternal tribe.
The moment she slits her throat in front of him after making him agree to never attack her motherland, you see the blood splatter turning into a flock of birds flying far away in the big blue sky. I don't know how to explain it, but the cinematography and the musical score makes it an empowering moment for the FL and it is cathartic.
you can't put "satisfying" and "not happy ending" in a same sentence. that's self-deluding.
It depends on the execution. Goodbye My Princess had a sad ending (FL commits suicide) but it's satisfying at the same time because she finally manages to free herself from the ML. However, Rebirth is no GMP, which is a masterpiece of a tragedy.
The best thing about Rebirth is that it made people who are new-ish to cdramas aware of Princess Agents. See you all in the comment section of a hopefully better show 😀
I did a rewatch of the first few episodes. IQIYI edited the first 5-6 episodes. They changed some scenes and cut…
I did read on weibo that other people noticed the changes in editing, i however only have access to VIKI, where everything remained the same. It is weird though to edit an ongoing drama after its release, didn't they have enough time in post-production?
Why did the FL kill the ML? How did it get to this point?
Chu Qiao tells Zhuge Yue the alliance had surrounded the place he was hiding/waiting in. They start sparring. At one point, CQ thrusts her sword and ZY, seeing this, drops his sword and impales himself in the chest. He tells her she must go on fighting for her dream and not feel sorry for him, that him dying is the only wait to accomplish a world without slaves (?!?!)
I'm not sure why he had to subject CQ, the woman he loves, to this ordeal and not just cut his own throat.

It's not a sequel of PA, in Rebirth there are no competing spy agencies, FL's mom was not murdered, did not train…
An alternate universe where Chu Qiao is an incompetent damsel in distress. She is the poster girl for what my friend likes to call a "too stupid to live" character.
I have to say that the streaming platform (Iqiyi and WeTv) are also not reliable with their distribution schedule…
They have published the airing schedule on the 20th of April (check discussions board, there is a post for the airing calendar). The next episode will air on Monday, the 27th of April and the finale will be on the 1st of May. The only difference is that they did not offer express packages to international subscribers.

No one from the PA production team had anything to do with Rebirth and the spy and ice power things were specific to the PA drama, not the novel. If Rebirth had wanted to continue the storyline, they would have had to pay for IP use for both drama and novel.
I would say PA the drama relied on storytelling and character arcs, while Rebirth relies purely on cinematography. Very different styles and approaches to adaptation of the source material. I wonder if they had initially intended to make a sequel to PA the drama, but were unable to reach an understanding with the IP holders. It makes no sense to start Rebirth at the ice lake, skip all the parts I mentioned previously and make no attempts to show who the characters are and what is their relationship to one another. Those quick flashbacks cannot create emotional attachment to the characters.
So in this regard, Rebirth relies on the viewer to remember what happened in PA while at the same time forgetting the plot discrepancies between the two dramas.
Since it's supposed to be a sequel to PA... Why the FL doesn't remember her special ice powers and the tattoo…
It's not a sequel of PA, in Rebirth there are no competing spy agencies, FL's mom was not murdered, did not train her and did not pass down special ice powers, the Xiuli army is all dead now and YX's horrible general survived. I would describe it as a very loose adaptation of the PA the novel, starting from the point where PA the drama ended.
This is PA2. People just don't want to accept it. I enjoy it best as PA2. It is easy to connect the story.
It's not Princess Agents 2. It abandoned major plotlines from PA, like the ones related to Chu Qiao's special flower tattoo and ice powers, to the competing spy agency, to the assassination of the FL's mother etc. The Xiuli army survived the frozen lake and YX's general was brutally killed by CQ in PA, but their fates were reversed in Rebirth.
