just because it’s set in the Republican era, everyone is supposed to turn a blind eye to the toxicity and abuse? 💀 The setting explains the historical context; it doesn’t make the writing immune to criticism. People can understand the era and STILL criticize how the story handles abuse. Stop using the historical setting as an excuse to shut down every criticism of the drama.

The trailer doesn’t say any of that, so stop making excuses and accept that this drama is toxic and abusive.And what exactly is there to be proud of? Did you miss the part where he was STRANGLING her, or are you deliberately ignoring it because it doesn’t fit your defense of him? Calling it “realistic” doesn’t magically erase what he did. These die-hard fans need to get a grip and stop acting like their fave is above criticism. 😭 He keeps serving the same smirk and people act like he’s delivering some groundbreaking performance. A smirk isn’t acting, and looking handsome on screen doesn’t automatically make someone’s performance impressive. If you can’t handle people pointing out the lack of expressions and emotional depth, maybe stay out of discussions about acting. Being a fan doesn’t mean you have to blindly praise everything he does.
