OldandNew

Odd, there seems to have been a sudden surge of 40 viewers (up from 165) who gave this drama a lower rating than we have seen all week. Wonder why? Did they not like the last 4 episodes?

Finished it today. Enjoyed it. But the hint of a sequel spoilt it a little for me.

I just read on X (formerly Twitter)a really wonderful post by the director Yang Lei referring to fans of this drama called Mountain Spring Masters. Very touching.

Enjoying episode 19 (I finally got subscribed on IQIYI). Random thought: any chance of a Chinese version of Mr. Bond (Mr. James Bond) with this male lead? He has the right mix of handsome and cool and ruthlessness. The name Shangguan Chengming has a certain intrique to it too.

Not great, but let's just enjoy the work and not worry about its commercial success so much.

Finally got subscribed. Binge watched 6 episodes and still can't believe ratings are not off the charts. I had to rewatch a couple because I lost the plot (as they say, ha ha), but it just needed more focus to figure it out on rewatch.

Not true, according to AI

I've just been able to watch previews beyond Episode 6 and they all look absolutely gripping; can't wait till Episode 7 is released free (tried to buy a subscription on IQIYI and Tencent Video but failed because of international payment system issues for my PC (have not tried to use Apple Pay or Google Pay since I do not want to view it on my mobile phone).

Sad. I researched the significance of average views and this looks awfully low. Wonder why?

I'm enjoying this drama very much. Great acting, great plot, a real sense of irony and humour. The corpse driving ritual in episode 5 would make a great Halloween caper; too bad this show will not reach western audiences easily.

I am really new to CDramas and find them fascinating, so please pardon me if my ignorance is showing, but the dark superstition and fraud themes and plots seem to me quite unique and spectacularly handled. But is there another drama that presents and handles the same themes even better, which you would recommend?

Thank you for doing this; I have been uanble to find this info online and my attempt at an IQIYI subscription has not succeeded (I'm from Canada, payment system did not work). I am enjoying the free episodes but they are way behind.
