As far as i remember, ig Chu Fei never got to know that it was Shi Mei who put the curse on MR. It was the present life's Chu Wanning who saw that while his memories were merging. At that time, time was really less so Chu Fei was focused more on saving MR from being consumed by the flower more so he opened the Gate of Life and Death to divide the souls between the younger MR and Chu Wanning. Yass our new haven!! There's a reason for why he's called by those names. It's there in the book too. First of all the flower theme comes cuz Hong-er offered a lil flower to XL which has become like a recurring theme through out. Yk a sort of first bond between them. XL is also represented many times as a white flower. The name however directly stems from an incident which is mentioned in the book. Remember HC wiped out Qi rong's entire lair and that's when he got the title cuz after he cleared out QR's lair, a shower of bloody rain was pouring down from the sky, and HC saw a small white flower getting battered down by the bloody rain, so he shielded that flower with an umbrella. Now this can also be taken as a representation of how HC will protect XL also in the future since XL is represented as a white flower. Hence the name, Crimson Rain Sought Flower. As for the silver butterflies, i dont remember if there was an origin story behind them, ig its just something that HC created as his signature item after becoming a ghost king.
