But i feel that there would be a difference tho, like if MR hadn't been blinded by the flower, perhaps he would have noticed Wanning's love for him earlier which might have prevented his descent down to Taxian Jun. Without the flower, it wouldn't have been so much of a massacre because the MR who came to Sisheng Peak was still an innocent and sweet child.

MR's childhood was extremely painful to read, like REALLY painful. Especially those parts where a young MR had to drag his mom's corpse just so that he could give her a proper burial, those descriptions of the corpse being infected and eaten by bugs. How a young Ran-er was rejected by his dad when he went asking him for help, not for himself but help to dig his mum's burial. How MR just wanted to treat people with kindness, but all those people crushed that soft side of him and he turned out like that. He really wanted to cling on to his mother's teachings of being kind to people but the world really forced him to part away with those teachings.
