The ambiguous flashback scene where the mother is asking JiAhn to select some pin, we dont know who she is actually talking to so the daughter who died could actually be JiSoo . Also after watching JiAhn being in such a pathetic state, the mother may have lied to give her a better life.

Now with increased control of economy and increased control of the harem they can slowly take over major posts weakening the king and by the time he abdicates or dies the Queens clan might take over the kingdom or put someone weak they can control as the king.
