I still give Jdorama 10 even without stunning cinematography for never wasting my time.
This is why I still can’t get into dramas from other countries, even during the time I stop watching Jdramas. Imagine sitting through a 30 episode drama with bunch of fillers.
I would say 90% of jdramas are filmed in a very old-fashioned way. This style of cinematography is a total miss.…
Yes, I have watched Hatsukoi. Very beautiful indeed. Like you said, 90% of Jdrama are filmed in a very old-fashioned way. Another thing is they always try to keep that ‘slice of life’ vibe no matter what the genre is.
Maybe it is because I barely watch any drama/movie recently but I found the cinematography is very refreshing for Jdrama. It is not the spamming "slice of life" that happen to be used for like 90% of Jdrama lol. Like if Unnatural was given a better cinematography, I would give it a 10.
Nice movie but not for people who don't like long, slow pace and not dramatic films. The movie is more complex than I thought. It's better if you just enjoy it and not trying to pick apart which is black and which is white.
yea they should have cut it down to 7-8 eps or something and focus more on the high schoolers like they supposed to. They were trying so hard to put in many separated story-line to show us their social problems but it defeated what they did the best in this show (the craziness and the comedy).
oh my god same!! I'm reading the top review up there with 6.5 rating and their nitpicking, and im like bruh seriously??…
If they don't want to create a serious zombie apocalypse, they wouldn't have put in a lot of issues like classism, social inequality, teen pregnancy, bullying and blackmail. It does matter when you are going to do a review and rate the film tho.
This is better than Squid game. Squid game is too mainstream and dramatic. Japanese are better doing this kind…
I didn't say anything about bad acting. I only read what you stated in your first comment "the character motivations don't feel realistic". I didn't ask the realistic of the whole show but only motivation. "Motivations" vs "actions or thinking or act like anime" are two different kind of thing. So what motivations are not realistic? You can't expect people to get what you meant right when you talk about one thing then explain something else completely different. That's why I said too vague.

Lol When reading opinion about AIB this is the second most popular opinion after "bad" acting, and they are all too vague (from SG's watchers ... well mostly) . Every character in this series has different motivations but in common they all want to live. So which is realistic and which is not?
As someone who has been reading the comments in Squid Game and Alice in Borderland, this narrative is very disingenuous.…
I only want to point out that this only became "common" because it's the easiest criticism everyone can make without watching the show. So I don't count it as criticism or at least a valid opinion for whether you wanna watch the film or not especially when it comes to Japanese films. Ofc Korean and others country films has those people too, but for Japanese films this part is incredibly loud. "Bad" can be misused but people can misunderstand too, and after many years watching J-films I can say that those excuses are usually to persuade people that J-films have "bad" acting. Other than that I have no problem with what you said.

Some people have this non-sense hate toward Japanese dramas, even they haven't even watched a single film. Even with the drama that have so little overacting , they will still throw this "common" criticism. It true that as a J-drama watcher sometimes I hate the acting but I don't just dismiss the character and the culture like some people do and boldly call it bad acting.
The drama ain't that confusing, even if it is then it's supposed to be like that at the beginning tho. It's parallel world and they might even mess with the time. Almost every K-dramas are overrated tho, it's nothing new.
Plot not new but somehow they managed to make it fresh.
