glad he was able to get out of Dao Ming Si's shadow. it's the role that presented him to the world but the character was too shallow to showcase his acting. he's a really great actor given the right script. also, he looks really great in period costumes lol
My issue with short kbls, most of the time, is that there's not enough screen time to appreciate the characters individually and to see their love blossom but this is one of those gems that came through. Short does not have to mean light and fluffy all the time. This game me major heartache but those sweet boyfriend moments healed me.
I really enjoy watching this with my kids. Would love to see them this independent but season 1 was shot decades ago and season 2 mostly are years ago too. Too much have changed since and my country is not as safe as Japan so I can't just send my 6 yrs old out for an errand on her own. Really cute experiment nonetheless.
As someone who grew up in Asia and familiar with this culture, I understand why some are not comfortable with what transpired in ep11&12. Abuse should never be tolerated in any form but looking at it realistically - this is what usually happens. We cannot sugarcoat everything and present it like a fairytale. That aside, I really love this series - the chemistry is out of this world, the way they handled Bai Lang's trauma and how Xun An helped him though it wasn't very clear if he really got the professional help he needed and the mini scenes at the end of every episode are really cute.
A few minutes into ep 1 and I just know this series will break my heart. When he stood up at ep 2, I am already bawling because I just know there's no way he survived that. Poor, poor babies
