Guys FYI this show is set as the same universe with My Day The Series. Jam is reprising his role while Red (the actor who plays Sky’s brother) now plays as the straight cousin of Sky.

I just hope that they could stop doing adlibs to minimize the unnecessary loud chatter.

Do I need to watch the first season to understand this one?
Actually if you will pay more attention on the first episode it is implied that the old series (the one with LKS) is an adaptation of Seok's webtoon in which he said that his works is already adapted to a TV show. And if you will watch further you will see Seok talking to the "producers" of the old adaptation as the story revolves with him continuing his work while being produced as a TV show.

So yes in the reboot's storyline the original TSOYH is a continuing series.
