Thanks for the rec and info on the Dugu dramas, shame they didn't do a better job, esp after releasing one right after the other. Not sure if you saw the new mini-drama, Palace: Devious Women, subbed on YouTube. Same production as Yanxi Palace, unfortunately it's only about twice the length of a movie, but it looks good.

Glad to hear it's good! I watched the first four episodes and liked it but put it on hold since someone had planned to release a version with better sound, it didn't happen though, so I'll have to start it over again I guess. I did some more searching for Concubines of Qing Emperor but still couldn't find anything. Thanks for keeping me updated, I'll do the same. :) btw have you seen Legend of Dugu or Queen Dugu? I've heard mixed reviews about which is better or if either is worth watching at all.

That's when I haven't been able to find unfortunately, please let me know if you do. I don't take them off if I can't find them though because a lot of older dramas still get subbed my fans on YouTube, Palace of Desire from 2000 was just completed. YouTube is the main place, but I also search dramacool, dramanice, and hkseries.net (a lot of the old harem dramas are from HK). I usually put the place I found subs in the notes, but I'm not sure if they're viewable by other people?

I'm not exactly an expert, but I'll try to help. :) The first thing that comes to mind is 2020's Serenade of Peaceful Joy, but only the first 15 or 16 eps involve Empress Liu, she's already impressed out with her when the drama takes place, the drama is from her son's perspective. I personally don't recommend it, I enjoyed the beginning, but I dropped it after 36 episodes.

The only one I know of that focuses on her story is The Legend of Great Song (2004). There's also a drama in the works with Zhao Liying, Feng Ba Jiu Tian.

Are any of those the drama you were thinking of? If not, let me know if you remember anything else about it, I would love to see a drama about Empress Liu!

How would you rate Palace of Devotion? I watched a little of the first episode and really liked the acting and production, but the editing was really choppy. I heard it got better after the first 10 episodes though?

Thanks for the heads up, I've been looking for the original for a while! I watched a little bit of the first episode on the original, and the English subs were really good, do you know if the whole series has good subs? Sometimes iQiyi machine translates the last episodes.

Ming Dynasty is one of my all-time favorite dramas, it's so underrated! If you like it, you'll probably also enjoy The Rise of Phonenixes. I can't find anything under Legend of Chang'an, do you mean Promise of Chang'an? Or maybe Dream of Chang'an? There's a lot of dramas with similar names lol.

Me too! I'm really hoping the others are released soon, I'm so excited for Dang Jia Zhu Mu) (Qing palace drama with GL!), and Legacy (Empress Fuca + Wei Ying Luo from Yanxi Palace).

Are there two episodes released for free, or are all episodes VIP only? Just checking before I spend the money for a VPN :) also, what do you think of the drama so far? I really like the sound of the plot, and I'm hoping it focuses on the political intrigue and scheming.

You can find the first 3 or 4 eps on YouTube but nothing after that. I've heard the Viki team stopped subbing it because it was so difficult to translate. :/ Please let me know if you find a subbed version!
