I think he mentioned in earlier episodes that he payed more than their contract, they just rising up the interest every time, out of contract, and when they planned to stop, they mentioned that it's over, so the whole problem here is about the interest.

Agreed in somehow, when you ssume everything is moving well, something counter attack will happen with silly moves not expected to be in a good show like this.

I see no need to watch S1 before S2, they will talk a few seconds about the abcense of squad of the S1 at the first episode of S2, you can ignore that.
