1. You don't seem to understand the crux of the story. They have an opposite timeline, so Dew has met Mum before Mum met Dew.... for example: the 12th of november (the night of the meteor shower) that was already in Dew's timeline, but not yet for a few days in Mum's timeline.
2. Dew always said about Mint that she is his best friend and that's what they should remain.
So I don't get all your confusion....
