@Pompero The first 9 episodes shows how difficult it is to leave North Korea without having the right connection or high power. Remember that Seri was going to leave with the national team but didn’t because of the situation with Military truck that tried to kill her.
Now with the help of his dad who is much influential because of his ranking in the military, they (Captain Ri and his comrades) could leave with the national team.
I don’t think South Korea welcomed them with open arms. Unlike North Korea which is critical with people entering and exiting her country, South Korea isn’t portrayed like that.
