In my opinion, Yu Bai knows and sees that Xiao Ran likes Xiang Wan and she likes him too. YB can see their chemistry together. Therefore, YB just let it go and thinks of Xiang Wan as his best friend and Xiao Ran as his friend. From the middle till the end, the three of them have kind of good friendships. it's just a guess~
