As many felt they didn't like or something is missing in this episode, I felt it too. It's good we didn't like it because whatever happened was not supposed to be liked. Even though Hua Yong didn't plan any of these it's still completely wrong. But ABO universe itself is not like human world. We were introduced to Hua yong as manipulator. As synopsis says how this lotus like demure guy is a ghost orchid doing devious things behind the innocence mask is what I signed up for. It's definitely wrong and I'm enjoying Hua Yong's tactics without justifying it.
I have a long history of loving toxic, morally grey characters. For example, I rewatch βHIStory 1: Obsessionβ…
Yes we have stories like that. But this story is not that. Again not defending Hua Yong character. His character is made to evoke sophoclean irony where the character doesn't know but audience knows. This creates excitement and keep on saying to Sheng you don't know what you are getting into. Saw a comment on Sheng saying Hua that Hua his is lucky star and as audience we KNOW THE TRUTH. So this element is what makes the story interesting that Sheng doesn't know.
I saw some comment pointing out hypocrisy of Hua Yong as he says one thing but hides truth from Shao. But that is Hua Yong. Nobody said he is good. I don't know how novel describes him. But in series even Shen wen lang call him crazy. Hua never defended his actions as good or bad. He doesn't even want gratitude or something. He knows what he wants and yes HIS WAYS ARE EVIL.we know it. That's why the name is desire and we want to watch it for Hua Yong. For example both Thada from Reset and Hua had to wait years for their love. But their approach sets them apart. Thada is someone we would love to see in real life and Hua Yong is someone we can watch onscreen. If everystory has Thada , then it's becomes saturated. We need all shades.
I love we are getting to watch two different characters Thada vs Hua Yong. Both had to wait for their love for years yet their approach sets them poles apart.
