Can someone explain Yeong Sook is still alive in 2019? Remember that Yeong Sook is only alive because Seo Yeon warned her of her death in 2019 with the cordless phone. However, if Seo Yeon had been trapped in the basement all the way from 1999 to 2019, she would not have the chance to have access to the cordless phone (much less warn Yeong Sook ). The only way I can see this happening is if 2019 Yeong Sook made a call to 1999 Yeong Seok to warn her of her impending death (the one caused by her stepmother), but this was not mentioned in the movie.

How and when did Chen die? Was it when he was riding on a scooter on the way to save Yan Liang while clutching his abdomen at episode 11?

Or when he jumped off the ship to attempt to save Yan Liang ? If it's the latter, then that would mean they both drowned to death.
