I don’t know about your Region but MRIAD is No. 1 in iQIYI trends in my region today. I take It as statement and compensation.

They said nothing but it’s for nie an unlimited Area restriction. My personal guess is that an outside streaming service is meddling with the licenses. Therefore, either you wait or Watch illegally. There’s no Office an plan for us for now. Sadly.

I feel you. I’m watching the show right now and I made the same terrible experience in the past. After one month I decided to quit and changed jobs. It was terrible, especially because his “new” girlfriend always waited outside. So insensitive. Great this is behind me!

The costumes are indeed amazing! I love that! The republican era dramas really grew on me in recent years.

I really like anthology series concept. With every season we get new characters, Independent storylines and other crime adaptations. They can keep that up for an eternity. Connected but not connected. Even if it’s not Asian but I also enjoyed this idea in the past with American horror story. I’m aware that there’s talks about MRIAD and CM not being related. The synopsis isn’t connected that’s true. But for me it’s a classic anthology crime series. I mean the original title 民国奇探 isn’t the same for nothing. ;)

I always fall for his looks. Not gonna lie. But I agree with you that his Stil is superior in republican dramas. I love him in them!

Hu Yi Tian always looks amazing in suits. I really like his slow movements. It’s hard to describe. But it gives him a certain level of nobility. I adore that!

Same. I watched this version recently and had the comparison as shadow all the time.

It’s also not officially available in my country. I asked iQIYI and their answer was generic and zero helpful: “You can’t watch it for the reason of area restrictions.” I mean, really? I’ve noticed that myself! How frustrating…

The most annoying part for me is that I wanted to give the show the streams. I’m a paid subscriber for years and now I’m paying and still need to watch it illegally with bad quality and can’t contribute to the shows success. ..

The only fact I got from iQIYI is that it won’t change for Checkmate anytime soon.
