The SKY Castle parallel was so good. Kim Joo Young being the mentor of the Colonel's son. She only takes one student per year and how the son is also being trained to go into med school.
Ri Jeong Hyeok make up your damn mind! First you say there is a woman in your life, then you go and get mad when she shows finger hearts to other soldiers. But that pout of yours, I can't even stay mad. Also, I love Se-ri's character. She has gone through so much but the way she laughs about her past, I admire her strength. She is brave and mature. She is a real fighter and I love her fighting spirit. I liked that Seung Jun acknowledged that she is the smartest in her family. When she wishes him to be happy, my heart could not take it. I want both of them to be happy. I hope they get a happy ending in any shape, way or form. They deserve it.

The small clips are like post credit scenes which mostly shows their past. I believe it's because not everything can be covered, so they show it at the end of each episode just to give an idea about the leads past. Also, some present scenes are also shown as a way to show more about the character's personality. The first 2 are in the past, when Se-ri had gone to Switzerland to commit suicide and Jeong Hyeok was a music Major in Switzerland and how their paths crossed.
I find Yoon Se-ri to be extremely brave. The fact that she is keeping herself together and actually taking the initiative to figure out the next steps instead of just merely sitting shows how strong she is. The situation of getting lost in an enemy state is extremely scary, but she never gives up and considers every failed attempt as an experience which inturn strengthens her determination to not give up. The fact that she has had a difficult childhood and adulthood to the point that she travelled to Switzerland just to end her life, but not ending it at the same time, returning to South Korea and starting her successful business shows how strong willed and independent she is. I admire that. She is used to the rich lifestyle, being pampered and spoilt but she also adapts well to the rustic lifestyle of NK without complaining much and inturn ends up enjoying the food and the minimalism. This shows how open-minded, free spirited and humble she is. If anything I can't wait to see more of her character growth and how she tackles situations.
Is set in NK for real or is just an imitation of the country? I mean is like this NK? anyone knows?
I'm pretty sure it's an imitation and not the real NK as NK in real is pretty restricted. As much as I have come across, NK is super strict as compared to the drama. And the living conditions I think are harsher (I'm not sure, though)

The application form was to study music in Switzerland. Also, there is a pamphlet with his piano performance photo. So, I guess he wanted to be a pianist and goes to Switzerland for the same where he meets (?) Se Ri for the first time, but had to join the military after his brother's suspicious death. Maybe that's why he starts at the Captain position (even though he can clearly be a high ranking officer) and doesn't give any family background as he knows something fishy is going on and wants to investigate in detail.
