I felt EP 1 was slow...but simultaneously, I thought it was okay—the familiar yet unfamiliar atmosphere between them.IDK what happened between them...guess LDR did not work for them, we will see. But they clearly have feelings for each other, but they are awkward and want to talk... it's like whatever it is which is holding them back if it does not obstruct anymore they will just run into each other's arms!
It was satisfying! I just hope they stop distributing a drama in 2 parts when it can clearly be done in 1 season...I find it unnecessary...I have a fish memory and I did not remember the plot in detail so at first, I thought I should revise PART 1!!! Later on, I remembered a few things so I will say I enjoyed PART 2 more...cos PART 1 was just used for building up the plot for PART 2! My only complain is don't split it kdramas in parts like this...it is annoying!
I did not even know it has a special episode lol! I got to know about it in the comments section of starry love...I was so happy in the end everyone reunited!
I finally finished watching it. I started and dropped it and then again restarted it 3-4 times because of the political atmosphere...but I am glad I finished it the 5th time, I found myself constantly looking forward to other episodes and to what will happen, and how will Mei Changsu resolve everything...The end was perfect for Marshal Lin Shu. The relationship between the characters' friendship, love, brotherhood, and family ties were all well portrayed. The loyalty towards each other and the country that Lin Shu had never once ceased burning. At times it made me emotional...it completely showed great human emotions! The OST was perfect- the lyrics made me emotional...and Xiao Jingyan's tribute to his best friend and his unwavering trust in him made me really emotional! How many friends do we have who can hold on to their friends and are willing to sacrifice for the injustice their friends suffered?
the ending scene was a good way to end this series! I started it when it was on air, but could not continue watching so I started again and I am glad I picked it up again...the acting of the leads impressed me. Chen Feiyu's voice times really shocked me while delivering dialogue and his portrayal of li xun was really impressive. Zhang Jingyi's Zhu Yu was as Li Xun said 'A Princess', her eyes always attracted him during her scenes with li xun,-starry eyes, determination, eagerness, spoiled, worry, sad...everything could be seen through her eyes. The plot was also not bad but for me, it was the leads that made me eager to continue watching it. Li Xun was not the perfect ML, Jianhong was not the complete villain, and Zhu Yun was not some weak white lotus...This trio made mistakes, had regrets, have personalities but there were choices they made that defined them...I did not completely love Li Xun and did not completely hate Gao Jianhong...I loved Zhu Yun though! Ren Di was another favorite and Fang Shumiao was good too...every character was not totally white they all were living their lives as best they could following their dreams and passion.
I love how everyone's characters are portrayed in a drama, the choices are not painted black and white. It gives the viewers a chance to watch others' POVs and Hao Jia's suffering, Madam He's suffering, and their POV even the Queen's POV...I was so emotional in so many scenes when the whole family and group of friends came together for each other. Prince Zheng's banquet, saving Song Wu, Hao Jia's suffering and I forgot. The third prince is repenting for his mistakes, everyone is learning and standing up for themselves. Everyone has to depend on someone's grace so they can do better but they all are doing their best and learning to live peacefully!
idk why I like this series lol...I dislike how it is edited, even the acting according to me is not that good, the plot is just simple tbh! The subs are so discouraging but okay I admit it is only due to leads and they have good chemistry. I would have dropped it tbh if not for them. I just find them cute lol...its entertaining I guess!
