I am very invested in the story so far, I hope it won't fall in the tragedy category like so many big budget C…
I guess almost everyone did die... um, in the novel at least, lets pray they changed it for the drama 1. Crown Prince is the emperor and then 3rd prince Zi Dan will be the emperor, bc 2nd prince is dead already, but not for long ofc 2. Song Huai En will betray XQ, bc one he likes Awu, two he wants to get Awu but he feels inferior so he betrays XQ for the throne thinking then he'll be compatible with Awu, three he also desires for power and status. 3. Nope, no, and never. This is the first time I trusted a cdrama man so much and XQ absolutely didn't disappoint me, definitely wont disappoint you too. Believe in Xiao Qi. (In the novel he did had 2 concubines that Awu kicked out which was also shown in the earlier episodes but in the drama theyre just female servants)
as for tragedy category.. in the novel the FL did die bc one she's overworked, two her body cant take the toll of giving birth so she's been weak after she gave birth to a pair of fraternal twins but I'm convincing myself that the drama changed this part ..
finished watching till episode 41 and I'm really devastated that this drama is under Youku and not Tencent/Iqiyi... waiting 7 MORE days for 10 more episodes is really a torture.. I'm still controlling myself to not finish the novel because of this drama's torturous airing slots
He has this stillness that far exceeds usual composure some Chinese MLs accustomed us to. Quite extraordinary.
yes oh my god that's exactly what I'm trying to put my words into but can't seem to do so because every single time I see him (which is rare bc he has got so less screentime for a ML), I can't help myself but to be attracted to this dude's "stillness that far exceeds usual composure". It's like he stunned me, every, single, time. He is literally my definition of a General, a Warlord. Xiao Qi is Zhou Yi Wei and Zhou Yi Wei is Xiao Qi.

I watched The Blooms in Ruyi Pavilion and I LOVED Wang You Shuo (and also because I like Kiki, his CP in the drama), his acting in the drama seems promising for future ML roles, Ive hopes on him. But this ML, Zhou Yi Wei here, lord, I've never fangirled so hard over someone of "uncle" age, he's the first. Not to mention the styling team helped a lot- that long hair with a small man bun at the back? Come on, he's my definition of how a General looks like.
can someone explain why A Wu accepted Xiao Qi so quickly in ep 13-14? I have nothing against that but it felt…
Also to add on to @JackieNg, the time span that happened from Ma Zi Dan not showing up, to the sweet parts in ep13~14 was about half a year's duration. Technically they skipped over the time FL spent healing bc (obviously) they can't do anything, which is why it seemed very fast
As for someone who literally started watching from episode 10 (bc I watched the earlier episode cuts on Douyin), I'm really loving the drama! Episodes 13 and 14 are the best currently, loved every moment of it.
This drama is not set to air any time soon I believe, considering it has been almost 4 years since the release of the trailer. The weibo account was kinda dead until recently but I don't think its a sign...
Currently this drama is estimated to be airing early next year, 2021. Probably around Chinese New Year since this is Zhao Liying's drama we're talking about.
Last but not least spoiler alert, in the novel that this drama originated from, the main leads also married (though not immediately) after the King died.
edit: everything I mentioned below except the last sentence is according to History, not the drama's plot. and I don't think that talking about History is considered spoilers so I'm not checking the tick, read at your own discretion thank you!
At first I was worried that Xiao Yanyan marrying Han De Rang part will not be able to air because of history issues (same reason for Legend of Hao Lan). However, my China Chinese friends told me according to history, Xiao Yanyan DID marry Han De Rang (the male lead in this drama) ultimately in the name of Empress Dowager. Xiao Yanyan does like Han De Rang even after the King (2nd male lead in this drama) died. Storyline wil go as what the synopsis summarised, no worries y'all.
