Maybe those who criticize the age gap because they focus on the dark circles. I didn't bothered by it at all, and I think the staff seemed to be trying their best to cover it up.

For those bothered by that, I would suggest maybe they could focus on the eyes of the main character, because chemistry is woven through the eyes, not the part beneath it.

The main character exudes a chemistry that is perfect for the first 12 episodes.

IKR. And for Liying's appearence, it doesn't bother me tho. For me the dark circle is really understandable. I kind of feel she is such a great actress struggling to balance her responsibility as a good mom and top class actress.

This is exactly what I think. I don't mind the passable CGI since this is not XianXia and the focus is more to the fight and blade scenes. I'm in Eps 12 and I enjoy their chemistry so far. Their characters are still in the stage of building relationships and trust so it is suitable for them to express themselves like that, Xie Yun with a mysterious backround but really cares about Fei, and Fei who has a tough personality like her mother.
