I thought I was the only one with Hows and Whys about the drama. I watched all episodes from start to finish but…
The amount of times I said to my screen, "You need therapy. And you. You also need therapy. Therapy!" to the characters were too many. TTJ was delusional! I don't even know how he jumped into conclusion that everything YXW did to him was out of sincere love. LSS too. She fell in love with this weird and soft side of TTJ and became so done with him when he's actually just being (another side of) himself. Toxic...they both deserve each other. Plot armor-everything she plots just kind of goes her way in a coincidence or works out for her. I do agree that the story is very good and need a lot of improvement.

Nope. He was 21 when this drama was shot and 22 if go by Lunar calendar year. It was shot last year.
Thank you for the correction!

I'm not complaining that there's no kiss scene for AS and LCG. Leo was literally 18-19 (if we go by lunar age) when this drama was shot. Think their chemistry and acting is enough.

Edit: Correction this drama was actually filmed in beginning 2020 and not in 2019 like I was originally thinking. I only remember when it came into talks and not when it filmed. So that being said, Leo would be around 20-21 depending on the calendar.

Edit 2: I find it weird that they can't do a full kiss scene here because I'm pretty sure he did a kiss scene in the Romance of the Condor Heroes (2014) as young Yang Guo with young Guo Fu. Like the camera can make it seem like they kiss but if I remember correctly, the camera showed lips touching.

May I ask where you watched it? I tried to find it on Tencent but I couldn't.
Thank you! It's okay with no subs cuz I know minimal basic chinese and I'll rewatch when it's subbed. <3

This drama popped up on my youtube recommends when I was watching a bunch of c-dramas on crack *ahem Guardian* on my birthday a few days ago. It caught my attention and now I can't stop waiting everyday for new episodes!

Person Zhao Ying Zi
well, your wish has been granted
Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude.

In the Promise of Chang'an, her character MingYu is the overall main character, but not many people like her character. Also, ChengYi, her costar is rising in popularity and so it seems she has been a little in the dark because of his popularity and acting skills. It seems like people began to focus on her costar more than her. It's also awkward that this was aired right after L&R which had high ratings and shippers of SFxXJ and so many weren't on the ship of MYxCX.

Hope she gets a really good main role script in the future. She looks promising.

Maybe it's because he has younger siblings.
Yeah he said it in an interview before that he has brother and a younger sister.

Funny cuz that's actually what happens. LOL

Honestly, it was kind of everybody's fault that that happened. I also don't understand why mortals are marrying into the heavens and demon world.

It's very unlikely that all four popular actor and actresses would star in the same drama unless they shot the drama before a few of them became popular which doesn't seem to be the case.

Also depending on the director's view he could just make one girl play two roles. When I read the novel I never thought the twins were identical so I hope the director have a good idea of who to cast.

Also, this is just my opinion, but I can't see Yang Zi, Wu Qian, or Deng Lun act in this drama at all. I can't see which role would fit them. I can see Steven as a main character like the Demon Crown Prince, but the rest of the actors no.

I feel you. Sometimes I just can't get myself to finish a drama. I only finish some when I have nothing to watch. And for me, I also tend to watch the hype dramas after it's already aired.

1) Eternal Love Of Dream.
I did finish the drama because there was barely any for me to watch at the time. There's not much to this drama to be honest. The acting? It's okay, and I think Vengo Gao carried this drama a bit in the acting section. The drama was draggy and boring in my opinion. There were just a lot of scenes of people repeating the same thing over and over. The point got across to us audience but apparently not to the characters? Here's my two cents. You can watch just the last two episodes and still know what's going on and what happened before because the side characters basically will long story short explain what happened LOL.

2) Descendants of the Sun
I couldn't get past episode 2. Song Hye Kyo's character annoyed me because the way she decided to act for the character seems unprofessional to me. I can't imagine a professional doctor with good intelligence talking like her to her patients at all. The OST is good and I still listen to it. I dropped this drama when it came out.

3) Pinocchio
This is one of those I would say well produced Kdramas. It has a good OST and cinematography and cast. I wasn't a big fan of Choi In Ha's character, but the idea of her always hiccuping when she lies made her unique for me. I get why Choi Dal Po likes her, but I don't get how she falls in love with him. This drama gets depressing from the middle to the end although it is (spoiler) a happy ending. I haven't rewatched this drama since the first time I've watched it, and I don't think I will any time soon. If you were to watch any of the 4 dramas you listed maybe try continuing this one.

4) Forest
I watched the first episode for Park Hae Jin too. Sadly, it wasn't entertaining enough for me to continue. There's nothing attractive about both leads that wants to make me invest my time. I liked that it focuses on the environment.

That's all I have.
