To be honest, I prefer that the story leans more towards romance... With the same flavor(like mystery, suspense etc) in the plot as now.

Why didn't Gong Shangjue ever ask Shangguan Qian what was she doing there , crouching at that desolate spot when he unintentionally (as he said or maybe he lied about it) rescued her from the potential rapists or villians? I mean this is a very important question. He asked her so many questions except anything related to this... Can anyone explain why?

And why is Shangguan Qian acting all vulnerable, demure, obedient in front of Gong Shangjue?
And why didn't Gong Shangjue's brother tell him that shangguan qian knows martial arts or is he just pretending that he doesn't know she is good at martial arts?

And why didn't shangguan qian use her martial arts to drive away the villians at the desolate spot instead of waiting for gong Shangjue to come? Or was that a trap she designed? Or could it be shangguan jue knew all this, and just played along?
