They can't hate it because he shoot it before the huge popularity of the untamed and his fame. I think his fans will watch the drama earlier or else they won't understand it later if XZ character appear. I am sure that he'll get more scenes when they shoot for the next season. Anyway I like Zhang Ruo Yin and Li Qin is one of the few c actresses I can tolerate. She convinced me with her acting the first time I saw her in Jade Dynasty ans the other actors look promising so I'll stick with it then fangirl when XZ appear.

Tbh I see it like you. This movie really ruined CQL reputation, success and all the effort the whole cast put into the drama. Why I think like that? Assume that someone who didn't read the novel, watched either CQL or the donghua choose to watch this movie first. Wouldn't he have a bad impression about this and think that CQL is crap like this one too? Wouldn't it make CQL lose new fans then? Before I watched the movie, I heard that this movie was only made to promote the actors in this movie. Anyway I still had high expectation for this movie since I am a huge fan of the author MXTX, novel, drama and donghua. CQL was the best drama in this year for me and it brought me back to watch and value cdrama. However this movie wasn't a real spin off but much like one of the extra chapter of the novel combined with Yi city story. I don't know why they choose to make Wen Ning like a cheap copy of Wei Wu Xian by making him act smart and confident all the sudden. At least they could have make a scene where WN mentioned why and how he changed to not make the viewers confused but they didn't explain anything. It looked like they didn't care to sell us good story but only achieve their goal. The change of character isn't my only complain. While they made WN out of character to make him appear cooler, they failed with SiZhui's character. I don't know how many years have passed after CQL in this movie but SiZhui didn't seem to improve at all. I mean the boy was trained by lwj and wwx themselves. He should have make an improvement till now but he's still a boy who can't act alone in TLD. Do you think that lwj or wwx would really let their son leave alone at night hunting without any companion? Not even the juniors who always tag along with him? The scripwriters should have make more research about the plot, characters etc... before writing this script. Even I, who know much about the novel, know that everything about this movie is a joke comparing to the original, strong plot. If something like that is happening for years then someone from the town would have gone to a cultivator to seek for help! There are countless of cultivators visiting Cities for nighthunts. Someone would have known about this problem with ghosts in this city. I don't believe either that all the watch tower were desteoyed just like that after JGY death. Many are losing their life but no one is aware about it while many sects are careful and act quickly to not let something like Yi City happen again? And that Xiao Yi is just an ordinary man. How could he have master the Yin Iron so easily while a strong man like WWX struggled to master it and had its bad side effect while using it? Forget about tze script. Even if wwx Scripts is there, it's still hard for a normal human to control it. And the matter with yin iron! Is that a joke? Lwj is described as a honest man who don't lie and prefer to see everything with his own eyes before believing it. If he said that they destroyed the Yin Iron then they did it! The whole cultivation World wouldn't be careless again after the matter with Jin Guang Yao and would make sure that nothing like the Yi city will happen again! Besides someone said that Xiao Yi could have stolen the Yin Iron during the battle? Which human with a Common Sense would go there to steal the Yin Iron during a big battle between strong cultivators? The only good thing I can say about this movie is Yubin's great acting. I adore Zheng Fan Xin but it's just a pity that they didn't give him the chance to improve much in this movie

I am a writer too and like strong plot that isn't predictable and don't have any plot holes. Not everything can be perfect but at least the script writers could have make an effort to give us an interesting movie. Even if I didnt enjoy it, I still watched it till the end instead of giving up on it. I am sorry but I can't say anything positive about TLD. I hope that the 2nd movie will do better
