I see a lot of people bashing Jian Jian for how cold she is toward the boys, because she is set on treating them like distant relatives, but I don’t her. We always knew that she was incredibly temperamental (her constant fits of anger) and stubborn. She let them go in the past because she thought they would eventually come back to her and when they never even visited once she was just reminded how fragile the relationship is. They are not real brothers and sister even if they acted like it in their youth. They would eventually part, yes, but she was constantly hurt over and over by them as the years went on. They essentially broke her trust in them. Do you honestly believe that she would be willing to go back to before that easily? She’s extremely cautious and scared that as soon as she let them back into her heart they will leave.
Now this isn’t bashing the boys because they both went through a lot in those 9 years. Long Xiao was forced to care for his mother/sister while Zi Qiu had to accept someone he loathed just so the burden can be taken off of Li Hai Chao. JJ probably knew the weight of what they were dealing with but not enough, in her heart, to justify leaving her for 9 years. They never communicated when they decided on leaving and most likely didn’t tell her anything that was happening in their lives beyond the basic things. They come back out of the blue and both try to force their way into her life. A few other people that she was so dependent on them and had to learn by herself. As soon as she was in a place where she independent they insisted on doing everything for her—food, her health, rides home, meddling in her relationships, etc. I too would be hostile. Especially when the boy’s demanded she break up with her boyfriend.
She might not have a passionate love with him and might only want to date to find inspiration but she is old enough to make those decisions. It was good that she went off on them because both of the brothers were way too harsh in that regard. She too was harsh with her words but she was exhausted of pretending like everything was the same as before.
It’s going to be a long and grueling process for our trio to heal from the wounds of their past. It’s not going to be easy for JJ to ignore those 9 years of abandonment. Consciously or unconsciously she wants to abandon them too so they know how it feels. It’s obvious that she still loves them because of the drawing and the way she looks at them sometimes before seeming to snap out of it. The best way for JJ to protect herself is to push them away, to push away her true feelings and avoid the situation for as long as possible.
That’s the beauty of this drama. The feelings that the trio in particular are going through is very realistic and complicated. It’s not black or white. Yes JJ should of made it clear from the start but the boys should of communicated with her in the past. It’s probably incredibly difficult for her to vocalize that hurt when she spent so many years pretending like it didn’t exist; the boys most likely didn’t know how to explain everything or didn’t want to worry them. We know LX was hurt (physically and we can assume emotionally, I mean he has to have some scars from taking on that responsibility at a young age) and ZQ was cut off financially from his birth father. That’s why LX is acting like he did in the past, constantly giving JJ physical affection, and why ZQ is acting like he’s rich and showering JJ in a different form of affection by cooking every morning. They want to forget their past so they just want to go back to how it used to be but it’s not that simple. All three needs to face their own inner demons and hopefully after they do they can work on repairing their relationship.
I believe most 2gether fans acknowledge its flaws. But people who hate this series/comapny/actors keep coming…
I know :/ but I thought if I just made a comment about that it would get criticism so I tried to level the playing field. There comes a point where people are just bashing on something to the extreme amount or they go out of their way to do it.
Instead of bashing they should try to explain the issues they have because when they don’t it just seems like jumping on the hate bandwagon you know?
I think there would be a lot less drama on here if we just admit that this series has flaws. I consider myself as a devoted fan and 2gether is on my top bl list but it’s okay to criticize the faults it has. Does that mean I love it any less? No. It just means that I can still appreciate something that is imperfect. My mindset is that as long as you enjoy the drama you have the right to express that. But you also have the right to express your dissatisfaction with it too. I’m not saying it’s okay to outright attack the fans or cast though. Please be mindful, not just on this comment section but MDL in general, because at the end of the day these are just dramas.
Basically to sum this whole thing up: everyone has the right to express how they feel about this show, whether they loved or loathed it. Try to take a step back sometimes and realize that not everyone will share your opinion.
Anygays, this is a very general thing and is not targeted at a certain person. The back and forth also happens on other platforms too. Even if I enjoy this show the list of problems I have with it is very long too (as I’m sure others will have too).
Is this drama worth it? I already know the ending thanks to spoilers but after binging Reply 1997 I really want to explore more of the dramas Seo In Guk has been in. Plus I really like Jung So Min and from the clips I saw they have really good chemistry. But even if I know the ending I still want to give it a try. For those who have watched it: is it worth it? Not worth it?
I know everyone is not psyched for the love triangle but I truly believe the boys love her in different ways (that doesn’t mean one loves her less but it’s not the same). It’s obvious that Ling Xiao has been in love with Jian Jian for years (both in the romantic and platonic sense). We can tell by his subtle and not subtle actions. I think he’s very aware of those feelings too but wanted to wait. The problem with that is he waited far too long, always thinking Jian Jian will stay by his side. It broke my heart to see them drift apart and how he used Ming Yue to know updates about her but I think it needed to happen. They both need to grow and while I believe they will end up together it’s going to be a very difficult journey.
As for Zi Qiu he loves her no less but I think he’s starting to develop romantic feelings because he wants a sense of security. If you remember the conversation with the father he said as you grow older the world will revolve his wife/children but not his siblings. It makes perfect sense why he would want their relationship to progress in that way. Both of the boys lives revolved around her. I mean they even pursued careers that JJ made comments about in passing. He will probably end up with Ming Yue but I hope there is not TOO much emphasis on romantic love.
The reason why this drama is so good is that there is this focus on the different forms of love. Zi Qiu and Ling Xiao loves Jian Jian but they journey of this drama is not “who does she end up with” but “how do these characters handle conflicts, changes in life, shifts in relationships, and will they repeat the same thing their parents did when things become difficult?” At least that’s what I would like to believe. It’s been really good so far so hopefully nothing is ruined by this particular plot line.
Ah finally! I've been searching for a long time for some wlw rep but can barely find any. I'm not sure if you know but Asian Crush has a few movies (and short films) featuring wlw storylines.
Can anyone tell me if this drama is worth it? I’m pretty new to weekend dramas so the episode count is what’s making me shy away. The last one I watched (but dropped because of the length) was Father is Strange. But I keep seeing good reviews and articles about it so I’m curious if I should give it a try?
I don’t care about the plot but I just hope the cast can stay the same. I’ll be fine if they focus on another side character because so many was interesting though. Even if it’s not the same cast I will still watch it, or at least give it a few episodes, because I have a strong attachment to the characters. Anyways, yay!! Patiently waiting for 2021 and season 2 to be released
Ah that whole episode was adorable but I just wanted to make sure: it is confirmed that there will be three more episodes right? Along with the Pearl spinoff? I simply can not get enough of these characters so I don't want it to be over with yet
My dropping habit usually has nothing to do with the drama itself. I tend to binge watch them at a rapid pace which is good because I can finish them faster but...I get burned out. It doesn’t matter how good the production, characters, plot, or OST is: if I binge it there’s a chance I’ll drop it right around episode 12/13. and won’t return to it for months. Consuming too much of something, even if you like it, can make you tired and bored.
so does this season feature a wlw character/couple? i don’t expect it to be a huge focus because i know this show follows many different characters but i really am in need of some rep.
I know this has already been asked but we can start any part first correct? Because so far this one does not interest me but Midnight Fantasy/Richy Rich do. Even if it’s not necessary do you recommend this one? This whole entire series is already pretty short so it’s not that big of a time investment anyways
Does anyone know the order to watch these shows? Is there even a order/do the characters cross over? There's only 4 episodes so I don't mind watching both but still I'm a bit confused.
When does Can Can and Tian Ye? That’s not the whole reason I’m watching this but I just wanna see if we actually get to see them as a couple or if it only happens at the end
Exactly how many episodes are on Viki? Is it the full season? I'm currently watching it and it says there's only 10 episodes but everywhere else says there are 20?
