I was wondering why it was low rated upto Ep 8.... but after that I understood... The second half of the show is very terrible.. We can't feel any chemistry between the characters from that point onwards.

Well I disagree with that.. At first I thought the same that the wife is dead.. but I re-watched the scene more than 5 times and reached the conclusion that it is an alternate ending. Reason:
1) The screen flickering.
2) The timeline. He contacts her right after achieving the dreams. Because he no longer need to worry about his position and can pass down the mantle to his brother.
3) He brings the bell to the garden and says "Soon".
4) The food still tastes the same.

That is actually Original Chinese Story ending.. They changed in the Korean Version.. They wanted to convey the Loneliness of the King where all his brothers and his trusted advisor left him.. He was left all alone in the palace... I think this ending is better because it conveys the true feelings of the ML..

The major problem in the gender bender is that the FL looks too feminine to be even mistaken as a man.. except for General and I, I haven't seen a single drama which has done gender bender properly.

Its good to know that its not a Gender Bender.. I can't stand those troups... I will give this a try then..

In which episode she is revealed to be Female? I usually hate these Gender Pretend roles.. especially when the FL doesn't look like a male at all...

Just finished the Ep 1 and I am halfway through the Ep 2 but I just can't seem to get into this drama... It was very high rated.. so I wanted to give it a try but I guess, this is not my cup of tea.

What I am saying is that the ML doesn't have a Heart of Gold ( He is not being misunderstood)... he is selfish jerk( He likes to think that he is a good person) eg: He asked the News channel to take care of FL so that she won't publish any article on him... then he says "I didn't think they will fire her". He knew what will happen the moment he made that call.. its just that, he wants to think he is a good person. He just wants to keep his conscience clean. Everything he has done so far are all selfish things... 1) He joined the show bcs he didn't want to do it with the SFL. 2) He allowed her to stay in his house, bcs he didn't want her to let everyone else know about her spending the night there. 3) He went to open the balcony door so that he won't be caught next day.. Most humans are selfish. they are not showing him having a heart of gold.. none of those actions were selfless kindness.. they were all selfish decisions. its just that he is also a jerk.

Try Its okay to be not okay, A gentleman's dignity, Chief of Staff, Fight for my Way, Go back Couple, King2hearts, Love and Redemption, Secret Garden, That Fool, 18 Again. Descendents of the Sun, Hyena, Gu Family Book, Divorce Lawyers in Love.... All these have strong female lead and doesn't need any protection from the ML.

Yup.. I used to see these kind of SFL's in early 2000 kdrama's ( Eg: Full House).. People hate these type of characters now... No idea what the writer was thinking...

I am enjoying this so far.. the prank on the Episode 4 was so worth it lol..

That's the purpose of FL in the story.. to bring out the good in him.. if he was not a jerk, what's the use of having a anti-fan?? .. this happens in the real life too... I have seen many guys who start reflecting on their actions once they are in relationship..

Both the endings are shown on the same episode.... First ending: - The FL drank poison while sitting on the swing. the ML finds her dead.... screen flickers... there is no FL on the swing, she has disappeared... afterwards... The ML still remembers the FL and is sitting lonely in the garden.. screen flickers... the ML is having food with FL and says that it tastes as bad as in the past...

Basically, they gave two options...1 FL drank poison and died.. 2. the FL left the palace and meets the ML secretly after 3 years because they can't be together considering Kings Order.

Actually its kind of like Alternate ending.. Basically they are presenting 2 endings.. 1 where the FL dies.... in another.. she disappears but they meet again after the court has become stable in a place outside palace..

There is no major romance except for 2-3 hugs.. they don't even say I love you through the entire drama..

Some of the recent Chinese favs of mine: Be With you , Perfect and Casual, The rebel Princes.. . Korean would be: Vincenzo, Dinner Mate, Vagabond, Where Stars Land..

Great drama.. no idea why it is at 7.7 instead of 8+..

The static thing was basically to provide a open ending.. They wanted to leave it to the viewers.. C-dramas tend to do this a lot.. they either kill one of the leads or leave it at a open ending.. In one of the dramas I saw, that the FL fought cancer and survived making it a happing ending but in the very last scene.. she was hit by a car in an accident and died while they were on the vacation.. I mean was that 2 min accident scene in the end that important? similar thing happened here.. They found she was an assassins', months ago.. after which they even stopped a rebellion... but suddenly emperor ordered her death after months... just to show the FL's death in the last episode... It was more like forced death..

I know.. I was hoping to see the King at the end of the drama when the Edict to kill the Princess came from the king.. but instead we saw a suicide scene.. . it was a very stupid scene which didn't make any sense overall..
