I’m guessing they couldn’t stay in the car because they wanted a bed to be available just in case something happened. Jom is too much a gentleman and Yo has a little bit too much self respect to give up his virginity in a car, like he’s a tramp that got picked up in the park or something. either that or the writers lacked imagination and should get out more.

I’m glad his friend was there to remind us that it’s now perfectly legal for Yo to have sex with older men if he wants to. even though they teased a confession, I figured nothing would happen because the age gap police would be all over Jom for “grooming” if he said “I’ve been waiting for months for you to turn 20.”

If I’m Jom, though, I’m slapping Yo silly for thinking that he has a crush on a 12 year old girl. ewww. I assume Earn is 12. because shit, she’s such an annoying immature brat that I can’t imagine her being an actual teenager. She’s less mature than the urchins. Anyway, I know things are different in Thailand, but it can’t be so normal for 28 year old men to want to date tween girls that it’s not considered a pretty salacious and slanderous accusation to make.

Jom needs a friend. someone he can talk to. a grown woman who can’t help but get into physical fights with a 12 year old girl is not the right friend for him.

I’m glad that we’re in Yo’s head and know that he’s a normal kid with an active libido. but we need to get into Jon’s head a bit, too. They could make up for the lack of chemistry a bit if we knew Jom was capable of a thinking a little dirty.

Yo’s body though. I’m all here for the sport of 1/2 naked Thai Water Wrestling.

So basically, Ramil is being manipulated by his father who only allows him to have one friend who he can take from him at any time.

I’ve mentioned this before elsewhere, but if Emmaly really existed, most of the PhD dissertations in the social sciences each year would be written about trying to understand it. Kanin’s father never remarried as well. And in a monarchy like this, having two of the four constituent principalities without an heir (until Kanin came back) and the third with only a woman as heir would be a civil war waiting to happen. And given the kingdoms wealth, its neighbors and other great powers would be falling all over themselves to either prevent it or take advantage of it. And on top of that, the clan that used to be in charge of security is now running an art school!

Anyway, the Kingdom seems to have a rule that you only can marry once and only produce 1 child. This is not how monarchies anywhere else have ever behaved. By not allowing a king to ascend to the throne unless he’s already sired an heir capable of winning a fencing match at least solves the problem that kingdoms had when an impotent prince became king. But these other rules make everything else worse. lol

Anyway, to answer your question. Given the 1 child only rule, it’s possible that they just didn’t have anyone they could marry. Below the princes, there are probably dukes and barons and whatnot, but everyone might have been hitched.

Because it’s a BL though, it’s possible the reason the two princes never remarried is because they each already have someone else, but that someone isn’t mentioned at court. Or maybe Kanin’s dad and Wasin were just waiting for the King to die to make same sex marriage legal and reveal that they are a couple. lol.

Willy Sonic. because at this point, sonic might as well hoist his legs behind ears and lose his v-card. maybe when he’s 85 and in the assisted living facility North will finally make a move. he might as well spread it around while he’s still young and we want to watch him.

yeah, sure. you just wanted information from him and decided the best place to do that is a place where he’d be naked.

Honestly, I know this isn't going to happen based on the promotional materials...but Chain's love interest is probably Sun. If this series ended with Sun and Chain realizing that the reason they want to sleep with the person the other is sleeping with is because they actually want to sleep with each other and have been trying to ruin each other's relationships with other people...and Nu ends up with his butler...I'd find that a satisfying ending. It wouldn't be the first time in a BL that two men fight over the same woman and end up realizing that they are meant for each other instead. Nu in this story is just another kind of girlfriend.

O.K. I'm worried that they bit more than they can chew with a series that seems to have 3-4 maybe five couples and only six episodes.

The Good:
1) Hey - its that guy from that thing I watched. Lots of actors taking a second swing at BL. Shows that I kind of enjoyed. What's Zabb Man, Our Days, all those things with Dr. Kok...and some things that were dreadful (ahem. Work from the Heart). So here's hoping they can get their careers on track. I was especially happy to see Gap. Our Days gave us Offroad, Poon, Putter, Copper and Pide. So I'm glad to see Gap in something. It was a much better series than its low ranking on MDL.
2) Its too short to waste time on Freshy Month. Thank God. Just jump right into the Campus Moon competition and skip over all that SOTUS hazing stuff.
3) Dr. Kok in Blue shorts. I don't know actually how I feel about him playing a school boy at 30 years old. But ever since Tharn Type I've been hoping to see him in shorts again. He had the best legs on that series. Definitely a sleeper build on the good doctor.

The Meh:
1) O.k. this is clearly a series without much in the way of budget. The sound is pretty bad. Like they couldn't afford an engineer. (Well, I guess that's o.k. since Thai Sound Engineers tend to be in charge of the Whizz Bing Pow foley effects). Also the schoolboys uniforms don't have the school name and student ID embroidered on them, like they are hoping to return the shirts when this is all over.
2) I hope there's more to the story about Chain and why he's doing what he's doing. He's protective of his sister...but no one else's sister and definitely not their girlfriends. Definitely comes off as a Hos before Bros kind of guy, though. Since Nu already seems to have fallen for Sun, its kind of odd to me that they'd spend time on the third wheel and make him a womanizer...in a BL of all things. I'm just going to go with "he sleeps with his friend's girlfriends so they'll break up with them because he wants them to mistrust women and start sleeping with each other." Kind of a fujoshi character who does everything necessary to prevent his ships from sinking.

I'm Confused:
1) The boy who redesigned Gundam's poster has been in something. Friend Forever? I told the Sunset About You? Gosh he looks familiar and its driving me crazy.

So a long time ago, people used to write slash fiction about two heterosexual characters falling in love and having a lot of sex with each other. These could be characters of another work or real life celebrities. But when you do that, you sometimes need to explain why otherwise heterosexual men would be so into each other. One explanation was hormones and pheromones where humans just gave into their desires like animals. Sudden burst of pheromones and boom! They just can't help themselves.

Another group of fanfic writers really got into the idea that men were like wolves and liked to imagine a society based on what passes for social biology of a wolfpack. We're all arranged into alpha males and beta males, don't you know. So they went off to explore this idea.

Then there was another group of fanfic writers who noticed the lack of women in slash fic and were like "well if society were nothing but males, how would we reproduce". And so Male Pregnancy (MPreg) was invented. Although it had been around as a theme for a bit in sci fi.

Then someone came along and thought "Woah! What if I combined all three of these things together!" And so the Omegaverse was born.

I mean, in general MDL is the place where english writers come to outdo each other in their expressions of negative reviews. Its kind of like expecting posters over at X not to be angry all the time.

Might as well weigh in to this latest debate here.
Is it a BL even on a subtextual level?
1) Short answer. No. To qualify as a BL, the movement of the story needs to be "towards the confession", since if nothing is ever confessed, it isn't a romance. Even if it were an unrequited love story, at some point, you've got to feel that the character should be confessing and it needs to matter that they aren't.
2) Longer answer. That said, in Season 1, if Beom Seok had told Si Eun at the end that he did what he did because he was in love with Su Ho, I would hardly have fallen out of my chair. But he could have said many other things at that moment that also would have made sense. Beom Seok, though, is pretty much the only character where I wouldn't have felt overly contrived if he were to make a confession like that. Like, Si Eun dreaming that Su Ho had woken up to tell him "My only regret, is that we never had a chance to kiss." or something like that would have just been tacky.

I think the relationships in Season 2 are a little bit more complicated in season 1, TBH. If season 1 was about friendships and violence and the kinds of bonds that can form between people who fight together (turns out those aren't as strong as they are supposed to be), season 2 is about responsibility and the bonds teachers and students and when you need to stop being friends with someone. Baku trained Baek Jin and now Baek Jin is tearing up the world. How responsible is Baku for that? Su Ho trained Si Eun...somewhat...with the explicit instructions that he avoid fighting. How long does he need to heed that training? Hyeon Tak looks up to Si Eun and following his advice gets his ass kicked in. Should Si Eun just ignore that because he lost a friend in the past? How superior fighters treat "their flunkies" and their devotees and people they have fought with in the past is what is being explored here more than friendships between equals. Friendship though is as much as a burden as a blessing this season because at some point, you might have to just admit that someone can't be rescued. The dramatic moments are when Si Eun decides that Jun Tae is worth saving, when Si Eun decides that Baku is worth saving, and when he decides in his dream that he needs to let go of Beom Seok, and Baku deciding that the only way forward is to destroy his former friend.

None of this screams "unresolved romantic feelings" to me. But it really doesn't bother me too much if you want to imagine that in addition to everything else, Baek Jin and Baku had a thing going on in middle school (!!!) that would have developed into a nice romantic pairing if it weren't for Baek Jin getting involved in organized crime...well I guess. I mean, his motivation isn't really made clear in the series. I think the lack of a complete backstory for Baek Jin is one of the reasons why season 2 lacks impact. If they are going to leave such holes, fill them in. When I fill in those holes, I see..."former novice wants respect from his teacher and wants his friend to tell him that he's still a good person even though he's completely in deep and over his head with the mob at this point." But if there's holes to fill, fill them. Love. Friendship. Strong erotic desire. Really interchangeable motives if you ask me as far as Baek Jin is concerned. They change nothing.

Your guess is as good as any. The leader of the gang said he didn't know how to reach him either. Not that gang members are trustworthy in their statements, but maybe they killed him for failing to protect the union or skimming off money to give to the orphans. Or maybe that'll be covered in another series.

I give this a pass in these kinds of series. At some point, you just gotta go with "so the series can happen" as the reason why the parents and teachers are so disengaged.

Baek Jin defeats Hu Min even after he has broken his arm and beats Su Eun nearly to death after both his legs and arms are broken. He is the only character who can absorb a punch from Hu Min. It took both of them to defeat him, so he is number 1 even though he lost.

Hu Min is basically a tank. Unfortunately, for Su Ho's sake, he is also in good shape. I could see Su Ho running circles around Hu Min trying to exhaust him, and avoiding a lot of his punches, but Su Ho isn't strong enough to beat a guy who can take a iron blow to the head from someone on a motorcycle driving 50 mph and continue fighting. While Su Ho is the more skilled fighter, Hu Min only needs to punch Su Ho once and he's gone.

I think Su Ho also would have problems with Seong Je on his own. Seong Je is clearly weaker than Baek Jin as Su Eun could fight him to a draw on his own. But I think the fact that Seong Je is a chain smoker is going to work in Su Ho's favor. I think it would be a surprisingly close fight.

I might put Gil Su above Seong Je, though. I'd pay to see that match. That would be a crazy fight.

Since the birth-rate has fallen off, there are a lot of abandoned school buildings in Korea that I'm sure are cheap to rent out. And since there's no such thing as an abandoned building these days that doesn't quickly show neglect, they might not have had to do much to spruce it up for filming. They probably reuse the same 3-4 abandoned schools for these series.

I used to joke about that. in the novel, indrytimes has people bumping into each other all the time. it’s like your idea of Bangkok is completely wrong. you may think that it’s a large modern metropolis of 10 million people. But if you believe Love Sick, it’s really a small village of about 600, primarily students, with one mall that everyone goes to.

Phun comes from a super privileged background. the kind where the police would make a big stink about it if he were pulled over. basically, his parents let him do whatever he wants as long as his scandal doesn’t make the news. now, what he shouldn’t be doing is wearing his Friday uniform while doing those things, or he will get pulled over.
