Hey, a serious question here. Am I the only one glad the creators didn't gave us another Character A: tall/agressive/over confident/top/seme/husband + Character B: naive/delicate/pushover/bottom/uke/wife pair?
The reason I liked Beam and Forth in 2moon2 was because most of the time they were treated as equals (before they started throwing around the hubby/wifey BS anyway). And it's the reason why I like these two so much. They both are assholes, sometimes soft and adorable, sometimes serious, sometimes silly and dumb. It's so nice. And refreshing. There is still many things that could be handled better (stop with treating not conventionally attractive characters as the bad guys, complete idiots or comic relief ughhh...) but hey, it's a good start. I was wondering, does anyone knows any other dramas with similar dynamics between the characters? I would be grateful for some recs.
A short explanation. I'm not hating on anyone for liking what they like (I love so many overused tropes in fiction, I get it). Oh yeah, I totally agree with you :D I'm just tired seeing the same characters full of clichés, stereotypes and overused tropes, copy pasted into another drama. We've seen this pairing so many times already... I hoped for something new, you know? Anyway, it's still a pretty good drama. I'm not mad at it, just a little bit disappointed. That's all.
I try to like this drama, I really do. But the main couple makes it so hard. One is uncivilised ass (I have no idea how bohn managed to find girlfriends or make friends in the past), another is a naive idiot (holy shit, he is not five! his sister seems to be more mature than him). I like how hard Bon fell for Duen or when he gets all shy/speechless when his crush does something adorable. I like when Duen shows he actually has some personality but then both of them open their mouths and start talking and boom, its over. Their bickering is so forced and cringey. I'm seriously wondering about Bon's strategy at this point. Seriously, my man, you call a guy an idiot and a roach, you force him to give you flowers and buy you meals, you're all aggressive and mean, and then you are surprised when he doesn't cry from happiness every time he sees you. Wtf. I think I will keep watching just for the side couples (as I did with almost every single drama so far). And that one lady character in Duen's friends group (what is her name? she seems to be awesome. loved her and Duen's drunk dancing :D). Also, Maek and King are so pretty. How are they so pretty. Not fair.
Short and dumb as hell but so entertaining and fun, holy shit! Love Lin Xun's little confused face and how sassy he was. Yang Xiang? Definitely my fav! <3 Yan Yue? Adorable puppy. All the boyfriends were great. I have no idea how the Yuan brothers survived so long without them.
I'm surprised how good this drama is (just edit out all these weird-ass characters that scream all the time how handsome character A or B is, they make me wanna punch a wall) and how much I like the main couple (a rare thing for me). I think its mainly because of Sarawat. This boy, holy shit. I may like him even more that Forth...? Oh, and the acting is pretty good. So, yeah. Nice. Give me more.
This drama keeps getting better and better. Every character, even the background ones (hi, Yoo Mi!), is great and interesting (I'm surprised how much I liked Boo Hyun Ah in the last episode... not just a pretty and delicate lady) but my absolute favourite is Ji Eun. Love this girl! Hilarious, competent and smart. And cute. Perfect. Also, Ji Hoon makes the best faces. Yup. Can't wait for more.
Love this short so much. So sweet. Also, I like how happy these girls were for their friend. And not in this creepy fujoshi way. Just happy for the both men to find each other. Nice.
I'm currently rewatching this because a) holidays yay, b) I needed some boy kissing goodness after spending three whole days with my family. You know what? It's not that bad. Nothing special but nothing too horrible either. I really like M and Tar (hi, you're pretty, I need you to star in countless dramas and movies, please and thank you). Not a fan of the guy playing Pun. I like the character (thank god he is not another naive/innocent/pure "bottom" waiting for the love of his life to notice him) and his scenes with M in the cafe (especially when he bossed M around, nice :D) were okay but other that that? Holy shit, he can't act. Every kissing/sex/emotional scene was painful to watch. Still waiting for the last episode to be subbed.
