Someone earlier had recommended Aarif Rahman as Xiao Shao, and after giving it a thought, I also think that he fits the role of Xiao Shao quite well. If you have read the novel and watched him in Princess Silver, you will understand, Jinyang wang is a character who doesn't speaks much but still conveys many things in his silence

Majority of the times, the novel reader has already imagined the character to look like this and if the casting doesn't fits the imagination, they ofcouse don't like it. I like liu yu ning in journey to love but here Iam hesitant, I don't like him nor I hate him because it doesn't matches with my imagination of xiao shao, it feels something missing, don't know if you read the novel, I hope it can clear the confusion. For reference you can see the comment section of rebirth of malicious empress of military lineage, it's a mixed vegetable pickle. I don't say it's bad, we are novel fans and want to see our favourite novel reaching it full potential as a drama

Dilireba looks so good in red historical costumes and as we know Jiang Ruan LOVES to wear red on most occasions and how writer has accentuated that when she wears red, she overpowers red and is not overshadowed by it. If directors took out this major thing from Jiang Ruan then there will be emptiness left behind, because she was not particular with hairstyles nor jewellery and any hobby, red was hy style. She only took interest when she dressed up as Princess for Empress Dowager

I thought about dilraba, but don't sure if she is good as jiang ruan, as I haven't seen her in such a dark role

Someone spoke my heart, directors really love to poke our imagination and ruin novels. Looks like productions are competing against each other in acquiring Qian shan cha ke's novels, without giving a thought that they themselves are capable enough to carry them out. They shouldn't air all these dramas at once or side by side. There are days when we have nothing to watch that piques our interest and then, they just bombard us.

This is qian shan cha ke's novel and we are it's fans, directors shouldn't acquire the novel, if they
don't have the capacity, capability or resources to make it alive on screen. They should write their own story and do what they want with it and don't play with our imagination. Famous novels come with fans, who come with their expectations. They are giving popularity to their work, their drama, by riding onto the already popular work of an author, so they should respect it. There is a reason why the work of the author is so loved by and is popular. Sorry if I sound mean.

That is my only condition for Jiang Ruan and her manners ofcouse, which she learned by living 6 years in the Palace

Jiang Ruan should be one that looks STUNNING in red, and even if she wears red in most of the drama, we shouldn't be bored of the red costume, a person who empowers the red, and not be overshadowed by this colour

Zhang linghe suits more as Gu Baiying in
my imagination, the male lead in Zanxing novel by Qian shan cha ke

Aside from leads, Gao Han looks like he needs to be casted as a villain in Qian shan cha ke's novel, either as Xuan Li or Fu Xiu Yi. And Shen Qiu looks like Yi Da Qian in my imagination, an upright, bright and honest older brother

To all saying Zhang Linghe looks good as Xie Jing Xing, I think if you have read Zanxing novel by Qian Shan Cha Ke, he is the face that looks the most suitable for male lead Gu Baiying. He fits Gu baiying more than Xie jing xing.

But I cannot think of any younger actor. Writer has set the bar too high, looks wise and acting wise both

He is quite handsome but he fits to my imagination more as duke su ji heng, someone who even when silently standing gives off a cold aura and can enjoy plays but never becomes part of them

Wu lei suits the personality of xjx but not his handsomeness. Only xiao zhan comes a little close to the handsomeness of xjx but don't know if he can nail the personality of xjx, as he is playing too many sweet roles

Yeah, he perfectly suits the grey vibes of xie jing xing but not his handsomeness. It's not our fault for not settling on actors easily for xie jing xing. Actor has set the bar too high, I think he is her bao bei, she has never wrote so many lines and paragraphs just on the beauty of mainlead and how he holds his cup

Xie jing xing is qian shan cha ke's bao bei. She has written her too handsome, so many paragraphs dedicated just to this beauty and how he holds cup while sitting in front of window, so far no only some actors can satisfy his level of visuals. But you're correct wu lei does properly fit in his grey and shady personality

Don't know about jiang yi yi, but neo hou gives me sunny vibes not gray and shady ones.

She usually plays villain so good that I want to slap her through the screen. Don't know how she will do in this drama
