“sometimes people start to have very unrealistic expectations from ML/FL, that they will be very understanding, caring, very progressive, very saint-like all through the drama. This is absolutely not the case for this drama, here both ML and FL have been portrayed much flawed, aka, very much human. They are supposed to make mistakes and make decisions that are sometimes detrimental and maybe even petty at times. It's very natural.
And here the ML has actually some good reasons as to why he is behaving like this. This should be quite a no-brainer at this point imo.”
“I personally think that characters in a drama, whether a ML or FL aren't really supposed to be "More than Human". They will make mistake, overreact, have difficulty communicating their feelings and thoughts, get jealous, do the wrong things sometimes, etc. Basically, they will do human things.
I personally don't get angry with these things for the most part. And our ML here is obviously pretty vulnerable, I mean, If I remember correctly, in the last 12 years after his breakup, he hasn't really opened up to anyone, other than to Shin-ah. So, I understand why he is afraid. Also, the fact that he thinks she is terminally ill, obviously, influencing his decision regarding Shin-ah.“
Here I include a comment from @blueberrycakepop regarding Ep11 👇🏼
“I see a lot of people are unhappy with how NGL excluded LSA from the audition and his reason being that he wants her to stay by his side (but we all know the real reason is because he is concern for her health cux remember, he thinks she is dying!) which is showing some imbalance in the relationship as it always appears to be.
I was originally kind of upset about what he said/did BUT thinking from his perspective and knowing what he knows, I can understand why he excluded her because she is supposedly dying. The reason that he gave (although somewhat romantic when you think about it) is not the best but I mean he can't really mention that he knows about her illness, right? As we all know, he isn't too great with his words, always mentioned debt when he shouldn't, then says she doesn't have talent. Lol he lacks social skills but he is trying to work on that.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say and also kudos to a poster from another forum for pointing this out. While it looks like he has the power, in reality Shin-ah has all the power in the relationship and this is signified by the fact that during the whole ladder scene, she was in the higher position!! How deep is that, you guys/gals!!!
In fact, NGJ is the vulnerable one here. Think about it, everyone in his life either ends up dying or leaving or betraying him. His first love left him at his lowest.. this is a big step for him, confessing to Shin-ah despite knowing that she is going to "die". During the last scene, he says "I'm fearful and afraid too" just shows how vulnerable that moment was for him.
So yes I guess I am defending him here now ahhaha but the more I think about the scene, the more I love it. Again, I'm sure he will end up helping her achieve her goals.
Joking hahaha let’s feel free to share our thoughts anytime, respectfully. ^^
But I know it’s rare for a Kdrama to have weddings & kids as the ending.
Just a wishful thinking for now haha
I noticed how she stays in character while kissing him, and also on their first official date. Shinah is always a shy girl.
They just started dating tho. And they used to hate each other before. If they changed drastically, that’d be more cringy, IMO 😂
Most viewers here like their chemistry.
Joking hehe
