Shallow and repeatedly tedious

I don't know what I honestly expected from a series focused on such a shallow character and premise, but I suppose it was - character development. There were no changes to the people, no character development, no communication, and no reason to continue watching.

I expected her to grow as a character, and get better, but instead, I felt myself wanting to smack her and both the male leads. Each arc, each new drama, was tedious and forced, and was then fixed within an episode, which led me to wonder why they needed so much drama in between it.

I honestly don't know why I expected anything less, honestly. Considering it's about 100 chapters into the webtoon and the MC is still just as shallow and conceited as she is in this show in the manga. (Fun fact: the mc has the audacity to complain that people around her are "fake" and catfishing her on blind dates. What the eff is she doing then? Can you spell hypocrite?)

The ONLY reason I got to episode 13 is that I wanted to see if their relationship when it was finally here was worth the tedious leading up to it. And it was not. Even with the brilliant, hard-hitting actors that I've thoroughly enjoyed in other things. Even they couldn't save this train wreck, and I'm genuinely not sure why people seem to enjoy this waste of a show.

There isn't much to say about it, apart from I believe Aaron Yan saves the entire thing. The plot and episodes feel like filler, and I really disliked the Main Character, because it seemed like she had typical heroine syndrome where it was all "hit them first and be frosty, and ask questions later after you've stormed off and been a brat only to realize you were wrong."

But that being said, it isn't bad. There's better things to watch out there and it was a slog to finish this. Watch other things, but come to this if you're really bored.

Absolutely bizarre. I honestly can't remember much about it, which is a shame, but this is set within the same universe as "Refresh Man" and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It had me laughing and smiling throughout the whole thing, and it was a refreshing change from Korean drama, which generally makes the women either incredibly hot-headed and irritating, or weedy, girly things. This MC did a great job of maintaining the balance between being too irrational and bad-tempered, and sticking up for herself, all without compromising her femininity.
It's definitely worth a watch, and you'll probably know after the first couple episodes if you'll like it.

Honestly, this was one of my first J-dramas, but I was a huge manga and anime fan anyway.

It follows the original story perfectly, the acting and casting are brilliant and it really captures the expressions and emotions and creates tension and tugs at your heartstrings. It's Kimi Wa Petto as a drama, to the letter. If that's what you want, that's what you're getting and I cannot find a fault with it in that respect.

However, it literally cannot help but fall into the "cliche" tropes since it's so faithful to the source material, which is a pretty old, original manga (which is still good, and the scans/translation and drawings are still very clean and not outdated art style if you haven't read it). In a way, it wasn't cliche as this was one of the first manga doing this kind of thing. But if you were to only watch the show, you may see it that way.

Still, I think people who had never watched the anime would still enjoy it.
