Yes, Yang Zi is really a great actress. Most of the time, her character in a drama would create discussions because of how she is in a character. I saw a lot of her projects and if that character needs to be annoyingly brat and crazy, she really is.
In her recent interview for IS, on people's comments how similar Jinmi and Yandan as her character, she said there's really a similarity. But she also pointed out how they were different. On Jinmi being slow witted and innocent, doesn't know anything about love and would only think about spiritual power. While Yandan is smart and a henchman and know everything including love. I just remember this because what she said are what people see in her as Jinmi and Yandan. 😊

Did you finally finished AOL? Ashes of Love has a depth story so others might really find it boring and uninteresting at first. It has depth characters and emotions that if you decide to watch it, you should invest your time into it.
I like RAR too, it's actually good, story and characters can be easily understood.
L&R is far better than AOL in terms of portraying true, pure and innocent love between XJ and SF..
I think the word you said "mentally incapable" made sense for you if you don't understand her character. Jinmi was raised in a place where they don't even know the differences between a man and a woman. They are only being taught about flowers, birds and animals. Just saying since story of AOL has a depth meaning.
