Actually if you read the novel, it has a lot of things going on. The plot is long and everything is important. To incorporate all of it, it needs 60 episodes. So I bet, though it would've been 60 episodes, there wouldn't be lagging fillers. It has a long plot to portray.
Also, it's a high budget drama. They've spent a lot of time, effort and money to shoot each scene. Cutting the drama abruptly after everything being filmed is just waste of all of it and I feel bad for the cast and crew. As said in the comments above, the rules must be applied to future dramas.

I heard that she was very nervous while shooting. But darnnnnnnnn, she looks so confident and beautiful on-screen. She is just killing it!

Yeah, in the BTS, Bai Lu was literally shivering in the scene of that first episode where she's held up high to get into the past. They really did a great job. Hope their hard work pays off. This drama is truly awesome. I hope more and more people watch and acknowledge it.

That devil is very manipulative. It keeps telling him that she abandoned him which is his very insecurity. And because he was completely unconscious, he really doesn't know that she gave him her eye. He better know it in the future!

I saw few of her previous works. Her acting truly needs some training. I hope she does a better work in the future episodes where she really needs to gear up!

I wish it's not cut and still there in a future episode.

This arc is going to make a huge difference to Tan Tai Jin, Ye Xi Wu and others as well. Just wait for it!

In the novel, their scenes of loving each other are so less. But I wish the directors have altered the script a little cuz even I want them to be more lovey-dovey🤧

I think it was cut more due to the limiting of the episodes to fit in one season because it was actually supposed to be 2. I might be wrong but this is what I heard.

This drama is so addicting. I've been here since the day it was announced that Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi are doing another drama together and that too a Xianxia fantasy. I loved them individually, loved them together in Love is Sweet. They are one hell of a chemistry couple. So I just couldn't stay still when I got the news. So, I read the whole novel only to get more connected to this drama. My expectations were high and I was already anticipating a very good drama.

My wait is finally over. It's like I held lamps of hope to want to see it as soon as possible. Now that I've seen all the 12 episodes that were aired so far, I'm just in tears. Cuz its AMAZING!!

This drama is going to be one of its kind. I wish it has 2 seasons as claimed in the beginning. I'm already sad that it had to be trimmed to fit in one season. But, I'm already soooooooo happy for it.

I just can't wait too see all the future episodes and how beautifully we can visually see the love story of Tan Tai Jin and Li Su Su unfolding.
