I felt the way that the writer handled that scene was horrific, in the way they made the victim apologize to the abuser, and even tried to excuse his behavior in he's trying to drive her away for "her own good". That trope drove the nails in the coffin for me. Still, I persisted till episode 31 for the sake of Xiao Zhan.
I don't know if this poster is not a native English speaker, but things are definitely lost in translation. I found their explanation of this scene to be quite insensitive as well.
