On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1 Jul 28, 2022
I have ranted about CSS’s mom before but can I say that the emperor is so cute being a mother hen and always fretting about LBY? It had to be said cause every time he does that it really cracks me up!

Definitely frustrating! I also want to make a point. In the scene where the Cheng family visits the emperor, while…
It is like she has blinders on when it comes to her daughter and nothing is making them budge not even a little bit. I don’t know what is meant to happen in Part 2 or in the next 3 episodes but honestly, I would be happy to not have to look at her and her behavior again.

With the mother I can’t. I tried to be understanding of history and culture but no. The bit that upsets me is that in a few occasions CSS asks her if she was dealing with CYY and not once has she picked up on it or realized the damage she was doing to her daughter but praising someone else always. It also speaks highly of CSS that she actually never reacted badly towards her cousin. Let’s not forget she got an edict praising her from the emperor and she was told how she did so much when with her third aunt, yet her mother’s opinion has never changed one bit. What she said to the emperor to decline the engagement was vile and disgusting. I was so mad watching this, I have no words how horrified I was no matter what lame ass excuses she came up after. TG for our male lead!!

Title Master of My Own Spoiler
I want to call it. The master mind behind the stock manipulation is Su Weiran. The preview makes it sound like…
He has been creeping me out from the get go and been suspecting that he had interfered. Don’t even get me started on how he loses it in the car saying he doesn’t trust NM and then big big red flag when the Senior ex asks NM if they had a fight. I really dislike this character and feel 0 sympathy for him even with his breakup trauma!

I am from France and have been a Korean Drama fan for 2 years now. The difference in culture and values are so…
Frankly no, not the same problem. A performer can refuse to take his shirt off, I don’t think anyone would hold a gun to his head and force him. Plus if the actor is big and famous enough, he holds a lot of power in terms of accepting or rejecting scenes and have them reworked.
As for actresses forced into sexual “slavery” that is a power thing, as their whole lives and careers could be destroyed. An actor’s life will not be in contrast if he doesn’t take off his top. The dynamic of power and the consequences are vastly different. We are talking about huge mental and physical distress imposed on a person. An actor in a scene still has a choice ( more or less to be fair) these women are left with none.
To be honest, shirtless or not, it makes no difference to me when watching a show... to each their own. Problems like these in the entertainment industry are rampant, I have no idea what it will take to fix it.

hmmm... the only problem is that I can't touch lolpeople are wandering around shirtless all the time, sometimes…
I am from France and have been a Korean Drama fan for 2 years now. The difference in culture and values are so stark between both our countries. I grew up with Nudity on Tv and is it right, no but it exists and it is part of our every day life.

From my perspective, and I am not judging and criticizing in any way, but a shirtless guy is frankly not a problem. Well, we see them every summer on the beach, and plus these are actions we do in every day life. I have seen my old roommate walk out of the bathroom in a towel and walk around in our old shared apartment shirtless and it was not in a sexual way. I have the habit of removing my jeans as soon as I walk home and I would be in my top and undies again nothing sexual and I am pretty sure there are variations of this everywhere with people at home.

If a guy in a drama is in the shower or getting undressed for xyzzy reason, what is the problem? at least you guys aren't getting full frontal nudity which we get from both genders may I add.

The sad truth is that "sex sells" if it is in the form of a 6 pack or another, that expression exist for a reason and they keep using it because it brings in the money. The day that stops, well all that will go out the door. The actors make tons of money and do work hard on their bodies for a reason... These things are discussed at contract negotiations and if they are not happy doing it, aren't there body doubles in Korea?

In terms of exploitation and objectification, imho there is a huge difference in seeing Ji Chang Wook taking a shower or changing his shirt and making me happy for a minute and those poor actresses forced to have sex with powerful people. In terms of relativity, one is a way bigger problem and needs to be dealt with asap.

Now, if you are a super conservative person and are offended by different levels of nudity, then all I can say is don't watch. There are a lot of dramas that are more wholesome to enjoy....
