this drama in general was very cute but the female lead always chasing after the guy got old, even if he liked he should have told her and not waited till someone else was interested or till the end.The second lead guy was an ideal guy for her because its rare to see a guy that genuinely cares about making you happy. this might be just a drama but I do hope people actually choose guys like the second lead in real life. Well I am glad to see that he eventually started appreciating her

yes It was interesting to see the dynamics of women in simple household settings of that time and i liked the end enemy too you constantly wondered what her motive really is ,she played her role really well because anytime she appeared on the screen I really couldn't stand her.I didn't want this show to end as well, hopefully we will see similar drams like this soon

I haven't watched the sequel but I am glad to hear that the emperor didn't sleep with Erqin. That was one of the things I found outputing about him .I personally had no issues with his acting, it was more of the character I didn't like.
I was also very impressed with the entire cast too especially the female lead will look out for more of her dramas.I will check the dramas of him that you mentioned so I can see him in a more positive light, hopefully I find English subs for them.Thanks for the recommendation.

I like the way you described their relationship dynamics' couldn't have say it better myself. Qiheng may have loved minglan but he would have not been able to stand up to his mother for her which would have made her suffer and he would have never been able to understand her struggles because he had been spoiled all his life. But I am glad he remained good till the end

I just finished this show and I came to gush about how amazing it was!!!this is one of the best drama couple that have watched in the longest time. they perfected understand each other and matched in smartness, wit and talents.I also like the way the second lead's arc was well explained on why he couldn't get the girl so many dramas always lead the the second lead hanging.it was very slow at the beginning because they were setting up the characters but I am soo glad I persisted.it was all round well thought out story with very minor flaws and with an extremely satisfying ending.

while my heart will always go with fuheng because I believe he loved her so much even will to let go of her just to protect her and still continue to support her.He was simply just amazing .He was truly came to understand Yingluo without her having to say anything.I will admit that the emperor and Yingluo were adorable to watch and the emperor could be a normal person around her. This was interesting from start to finish and you will enjoy the ride.

Before I start with my complaints I want to say that this drama was very interesting, captivating from start to finish.i totally recommend it
things I liked
1. Yingluio was such a strong and cunning female lead that it was mostly her that kept me watching.
2.fuheng was a very pure and beautiful person ,my heart still aches thinking about him.
3. I loved the loyal characters like empress fuca, mingyu, haichallan and the other Yanxi palace servants
4.I liked the fact that FL was so loyal to people that helped her.
5.i liked the fact that she was so smart and that most times she was one step ahead of the bad ones
6.I liked that fact that she didn't fawn over the emperor and that she was so independent.
7.Fuheng love for her was too purely just had to put it again
8.i love the progression on Mingyu from enemies to true friendship with yingliu
Things I disliked
1.I hated the fact that the emperor broke FH and yingliuo up and never apologized for it
2.I hated the fact that the consorts got away with so many evil deeds without having any serious punishment.
3.i hated that the emperor could claim he loved her and still sleep with any female around while being jealous of FH just being around her
4.i hate erqlin
5.i was disgusted with the emperor for sleeping with erqlin whether drunk or not
6.Mingyu didn't marry hailancha,i wanted her to have a happy end even if it could be brief.
7.CHENBI!never really no need to add her character especially so late in the drama, could have gone without it
8.Honestly I couldn't stand the emperor so many times in the dramas get that he is the main lead and an emperor but he didn't so many terrible things to yingliuo directly or indirectly and I didn't find his so called love for convincing. he willingness to sleep with and add so many new concubines if after being already in love with yingliuo is just hard to swallow.i know that's what happened in those days but still.
9.fuyeng didn't enjoy any bit of happiness, it wasn't fair.
honestly fuheng was just too pure ,i really believe he loved her more than the emperor, it shouldn't even be compared.i really wished he didn't end up that way, he sacrificed everything for yingliuo. My heart ached so much for him.i just tell myself that he was too good for her.i do think she loved both fuyeng and the emperor but her love for revenge was stronger.
Ultimately the drama wrapped up nicely and she got her revenge, she was so fun to watch because she was truly outstanding
