Wow, the casting director needs to be fired and they need to be set on fire to. This cast with the exception of…
They weren't ugly. We're just used to seeing extremely attractive actors in BL. They just went for moderately good looking actors and actresses in this series. What made these actors seem unattractive was the dumb looks and expressions they were made to do for laughs.
Well, many of the characters are first timers. They can only be as good as the production is in terms of guidance…
I doubt if anyone blames the actors. Obviously, what we're seeing is what the director wanted. There were some cute characters, but then the directors ruined it by having them make extremely unflattering expressions. If I was a deviated sadistic director who wanted to make actors look as bad as possible and potentially ruin their careers, then this is exactly what I would have done.
I don't know much about colourism in Thailand: but I totally disagree with this summary of Strong. He was great:…
All of the things you stated are in your mind, not fact. You really don't know whether he was cast in that part because of his comedic expressions or his acting abilities. But you give the impression that you desperately want to believe it was due to the fact that he was half white. You seem like a very bitter person who is racist. Had he been half black, half middle eastern, or half Latino I feel that you wouldn't have complained. Only because he is half white. The worst racists are the ones who don't recognize it in themselves. Look in the mirror, Rebecca.
Rebecca,"this guys has an old grandpa face and he looks like Mr. Bean." the last time I check, Rowan Atkinson/Mr.…
Rebecca do you even realize how racist you are? How racist you seem? How racist you sound? You're criticizing him simply because of his race. Because he's half white. That's racist. The comment he made was not his, but part of the script. Whether you like it or not, in a lot of countries people have preference in how their skin looks. Lots of caucasians enjoy getting a tan and looking darker. Lots of darker skinned people prefer to lighten their skin. It has nothing to do with them being ashamed, but it's personal preference. So what if an actor is half or mixed. Look at American cinema and television. Look at Magnum P.I. in the United States. A white character, Thomas Magnum who was last played by Tom Selleck is now being played by a full blooded Mexican-American. White Americans aren't complaining. I'm Mexican American myself and don't mind it when a person of Latin descent plays a caucasian part. It's fiction. It's drama.
I'm curious how do we go about making sure they know why are dissatisfied?
Well, hopefully someone in the cast or the production staff takes the time to check out kisskh or comments on Youtube to get an idea of how the show is being received by the fans. Maybe they do, and maybe they don't. But most productions do have someone monitoring these kinds of reviews.
She is definitely a good writer, otherwise LBC 1 wouldn't have been as popular and the success it was. I think a lot of the problem may be that many of the previous BL dramas were created and targeted toward the high school age kids. And her writing is targeted toward College and older adult viewers. Her writing reflects the reality of our world, where rape and violence do exist. It's a program for the more mature viewers. We all know that it's just a television program, not real life, so there's nothing to really object to. Besides, if we don't like it, we don't have to watch it. The "rape" of techno didn't really bother me because I understand that this isn't real life, and is only a drama. Honestly, I almost found it a little bit humorous. Because it's only actors playing a part. Not real. The incest that she writes about just turns me off and I find it boring. I don't find it interesting at all. But otherwise, I think the program may just be too mature for some viewers. like the warnings at the beginning of the shows advises. And those less mature viewers are getting upset about the rape or violence.
You might all be getting ahead of yourselves hating this series. 2moons2 did the same thing to reintroduce a new…
I don't think you're breaking the news to anyone. We all are very aware that this is a Thai based program produced to be initially a Thai broadcast. But nevertheless, the producers and cast have said they do care about international fans. Enough to journey out of the country to hold public appearances. Most fans don't mind the fact that they're backtracking to give new viewers an idea of what this is all about, but are unhappy that it's being done in a way that is alienating a lot of the original viewers. Most feel that it could have continued on right from where the old season ended and done it the conventional way of using flashbacks or even creating new faux flashbacks as long as they adhered to the original plot.
Is P'New gay? I know that P'Aof is, but is P'New? Just curious as he directs a lot of BL series and even has Studio…
Good question. I would assume he is, but you never know for sure. Regardless, he has a good vision of how gays should act, without trying to always make them act effeminate as some directors do.
There's nothing wrong with a writer having robbery, murder or rape in their novels, since it's real and happens in real life. But she seems to have a fixation on brothers being in love with each other. Most of the viewers that watch these programs just aren't interested in that and are actually turned-off by it. Other than that, I think she's a good writer and the fact that everyone loved the first season and couldn't wait for season two proves that. However she seems to have lost her way with season two and should have just let it continue on from where it left off.
im just glad that for once the general consensus on this drama is that it is awful. bls have usually so many polarizing…
If we had not seen the first season and were watching this for the first time, it wouldn't have been so bad. But having the first season to judge this by really sinks it. If the writer would spend less time trying to make Can look like he's a silly clown that thinks only about food, and more time further developing his character and maturity, the show would be a lot better. We already saw Tin and Can break up once, are we going to have to watch them fall in love and break up again under different circumstances?
It's not that they didn't do their best, they rewrote an already established and cannon plot, and the proceed…
I totally agree Kyuubikage. Last season we watched it start out as an AE/Pete show, and then saw the Tin/Can relationship bloom. For me, it gradually became more interesting than Pete and Ae. In fact Pete/Ae actually became a little boring compared to Tin and Can. Win you had a winning story that had everyones attention, why go back and change it? It makes no sense. The only thing they needed to address was Pete leaving the series. Everything else should have just proceeded on exactly from where it left off. From everyone I talked to, what they all were eagerly awaiting was to see how Tin and Can would get back together, and to see the surprising "Kengla - No" encounter progress. That took us by surprise, and really excited a lot of people. They had such a great subject matter to continue on with, and somehow they got sidetracked and don't want to give the loyal viewers what we want.
I like this Tin better. The personality is the same, but the writing is better so far.
I disagree. I don't think the writing is better at all. They're relying on too much slapstick humor. Rather than expand our understanding of the characters, they're making jokes out of some of them. We wanted to see Tin and Can evolve even more from their breakup and we also wanted to see Kengla and No progress from their encounter. But instead we're getting a muddled mess of a storyline that was clear and simple when it ended last season. There was no reason to change anything at all, except have Pete depart and Ae move on from that. No reason to not expand Kengla and No, and also Tin and Can move forward from where they left off. That was all that was needed to keep it first rate as it was when it ended last season.
It seems that the producers and directors didn't fully understand that the reason that this was the most anticipated second season ever was because the first season was perfection. We were upset when we thought there wouldn't be a second season, then wonderfully relieved to learn that season to would actually be produced. But the reason we were so excited about it was due to the fact that we loved the first season exactly how it was, and due to us loving the characters and secondary sub-plots. They should have understood that and built on it. Instead, they're taking away a lot of what we were looking forward to and changing the personalities of the characters we loved. What are they thinking? It's not too late to rethink these mistakes and bring back the old characters and sub-plots that we were all waiting for. Don't sabotage your own show and disrespect the loyal followers who have been waiting for this show. We did not want a re-boot. We wanted a continuation. Why don't you understand this?
"I've only watched the first two episodes and so far I'm disappointed. This show had the potential to be the greatest second season ever, and so far they're blowing it. It was perfect the way the first season ended, and would have been great to just pick up from where it ended. No reason at all to go back and change history. Having Pete move away, or whatever could easily be explained. But to change the otherwise perfect plot of Tin and Cam was just messing with perfection. Like they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". And the Tin Can plot was perfect. The breakup, and now the chance to have them get back together. Just can't understand why they felt the need to go back and change something that was already great drama. What's even worse it to try to revert Can back to a simple clown. He had transformed from a jokester and food addict to a real human being with heavy emotions and the end of last season. A real three dimensional character that made us care about him. A now, they're portraying him as a clown. A mindless kid who thinks of nothing but food. They need to downplay that food aspect, because it's not cute anymore, and become an annoying, boring distraction. Just downplay the food, please! It was a good process watching both Tin and Can evolve into the characters they were at the end of last season. Now you've thrown all that away. Just hope this show can get back on track quickly.
don't you understand this?
