why do I lowkey feel like you could take out dosan's character completely from this story and still have the same/very similar plot lmfao. It's like he hasn't contributed to any plot progression at all for the past few episodes.
After every episode of this godforsaken show I tell myself I'm gonna drop it, but then when next week's preview comes and shows 0.5 seconds of han ji pyeong's beautiful face I'm convinced to anticipate and watch the next episode :( kim seon ho what have you done to me
I just wanna say it's so refreshing to see these comments here actually analyzing characters and the episodes, as opposed to twitter where its a bunch of dodal/namzy stans crying and screaming over the fact that their favs aren't beloved by everyone :/ if you dare point out a single flaw of dosan be ready for pitchforks lmfao.
I'm always so blown away by Kim Seon Ho's acting. It's a shame he hasn't had as much screen time in the past few episodes, he really is the emotional backbone of the entire story. A few seconds of a close up of his eyes make me feel way more than 10 min straight of crying dosan lmfao.
but tbh, i just don't understand why the writer make the whole namsan tech team as weak and uninspiring. the reason…
Its hard to root for a team that don't acknowledge those who helped them along the way and instead let their ego take over in every. fricking. episode.
When they say this trend is filled with shippers war.. But I have read a lot of comments, and all i see is HJP…
yeah lmao dosan/dodal stans are chilling because no matter what dosan does, hes the ML and will get his happy ending, most likely including the girl, even tho HJP deserves it more. oh well
Beyond the entire HJP vs NDS debate, the biggest crime is the (under)development of the female leads. Dalmi went from being competent, optimistic, and quick-witted to dumbed-down, naive, and a sheep following Dosan's words blindly. In Jae has been reduced to a cameo role at this point. Not really sure what the point of her character even is tbh.
Grandma's vision was all about nds looking good for sdm fall in love with him. Hjp literally is a millionaire…
if HJP knew he would invest in the tech from day 1 and save the day. pity everyone including the writers are too afraid to give him more plot importance.
My main gripe about this entire show is how the writers half-ass LITERALLY everything:
1. Jipyeong's amazing character development and backstory is thrown to the side after being the main focus because the writers forgot that dosan needs a story too besides being cute and clumsy. Oh, and jipyeongs history is never explained to any of the characters and never mentioned again so he's seen as a cliched rich and arrogant man. nice.
2. The letters were the main driving force of the plot, then they're magically forgotten once the truth comes out. Did dalmi actually care about them?? It doesn't seem so. She was upset for half an episode before she got over it.
3. A love triangle is forced down our throats and then they give 90% of screentime to dosan to make it in his favor. Why bother creating it if you won't let Jipyeong have a fair chance?
4. Halmeoni has vision loss, and then everyone is ok with it and forgets about it and don't bother to tell jipyeong!!! because why would we tell the one person who loves her as his only maternal figure? silly lol.
5. Jipyeong goes out of his way to help and mentor and support samsan tech every. single. time. and yet??? they still don't trust him and don't go to him for advice?? Samsan tech wouldn't have gotten past episode 2 if it wasn't for him. Jipyeong left them alone for ONE DAY and they managed to ruin everything in that small time span. wow.
Where is the character development?? Why is Dosan's dream still Dalmi??? WHY IS HAN JI PYEONG VILLAINIZED FOR DOING HIS JOB???? There are too many plot lines that don't get resolved. The writing is so subpar wtf happened to this show.
I'm convinced that the writers wrote the script for 8 episodes and then suddenly found out oh shit, there needs to be 16 not 8!!!, hence the total mess of a plot that we have right now. At this point I'm only watching (fast-forwarding) to get Kim Seon Ho content and that's about all.
If Dalmi ends up with Jipyeong this would easily be the biggest and most groundbreaking kdrama to date. On the other hand if the writers wanna go the boring way and have her be with Dosan it'd be mediocre at best...
Do you guys realize that its not the viewers fault that HJP is so loved? The writers messed up Dosan's character. You don't see this much SLS and anti-ML comments in any other kdrama for a reason. It shouldn't be hard to make the viewers love suzy/nam joohyuk since they look so good together, yet here we are. Jipyeong, played AMAZINGLY by kim seonho, was written like the lead in ep1 then thrown to the side and treated like trash, of course we're upset for him.
When you did something wrong, just give a sincere apology. Don't even try to tell a story. Forgiveness comes from…
Do you think real life works like that? you cant do something wrong, say omg im so sorry :( please forgive me :(, then expect everything is ok again. If you don't have a good explanation as to why something happened then you might never be forgiven. it shows your intention.
Everyone getting worked up over Jipyeong not explicitly saying "I'm sorry." I think that actually explaining what was going on and clearing up the situation was a lot more helpful than a useless apology. All Dosan was doing was crying and apologizing and looking all pitiful like a child, and compare that with Jipyeong who actually went out of his way to tell Dalmi what happened and finally bring the truth to light. Besides, what was he supposed to say, sorry your grandmother made me lie to you for 15 years? Ya'll are fr reaching on trying to find something to hate jipyeong about
