Yes you can let your actor improvise but you need to give them deepfull backstory of their character and pretty weel writing series and direction of how to act

For me it's like Oxin series never had a complete and pretty good writed script ! Like they know what the story will be but dialogue and all the other needed material isn't write and let at the actor inspiration (too many times)
That reflect on how many times lines are the same like in the ep 7 and the repeating "what are your gratefull" line
if actors are good they could improvise a pretty good dialogue but that if the actor are really good if not we have repeating line
