I'm in the USA, and I'm enjoying nomyen: my local Thai market had sala syrup! Artificially flavored, of course, but it's the same brand the vendor at the food hall in Sotus uses :)
One thing that bothers me is how everyone is just accepting that these accidents are of supernatural origin. The teachers have a reason to encourage that, it promotes compliance, but come on, what 12th grader would believe that any of the "curse" incidents wasn't either intentially caused by a human, or at the very least a result of negligence (like the car rolling in the first episode).
Give it a try yes! It's not stereotypical and cringey like some others. Based on the shows that you mentionned…
Even though the love of my life, Gun, starred in Not Me, I was initially turned off by the utter implausibility of parents separating twins. Of course I don't mind ghosts (HCTM, HB, SIMR), past-life-links (UWMA), body swaps (TS, VV), or other fantasy plot elements; they are clearly fantasy. HOWEVER... I persisted past the first two episodes, and was rewarded with one of the best series yet, with Gun and Off reaching new heights. DEFINITELY worth watching.
i swear this is the only time where ive loved both couples
probably not a second couple by BL standards, but Pond (Yaght's character) and his girlfriend were an adorable couple in Love by Chance, much more so than Tin/Can
The scenes in episode 4 where Bas is desperate, yet refuses to admit it when people ask, is all too realistic. As is everyone (Ait, James, Marco, the brother) that Bas is most certainly NOT all right, but they don't press on. Especially the brother; it's obvious that Bas is desperately in pain, yet he goes off to buy food for the bird, and then off to study. Yes, studying is important, but your brother not killing himself should be a priority.
Another cultural thing I don't understand: at the restaurant, where they almost get busted by Tee, the waitress comes up to Ait and asks for a selfie. How can this possibly be socially acceptable? Ait was visibly bothered, yet still could not say "sorry, if you take that pic, I'll get fired, and then you won't be able to ship me any more" to get rid of the pest. Of course that carried the risk of having her spit in his next food order, so maybe it was a calculated risk :)
While not at the same level of abuse as, e.g., Tee molesting Bas, it's still abuse. Tee abused his power to fire Bas, who may not have been able to afford that, either financially or emotionally, but so, in some way, did the waitress: the implication was "if you don't let me take a selfie of you, i'll whine about it in on twitter, and then you'll have a whole lot of other people with no sense of proportion attacking you as if you were the antichrist".
I finally binge-watched this, starting on the second season now. Initially I had assumed that it was a more direct reference than the first War of Y to the kerfuffle surrounding Saint and Perth during the shooting of Love by Chance, where (allegedly) Saint's manager introduced him, shall we say, to some rich investor, and also had a spat with Perth's manager. I read some more of this forum and realized it was about 2Moons2. I didn't particularly care for either version, so I hadn't paid any attention to the discussions, but of course that does not diminish the gravity of what (allegedly; too many lawyers in this world) happened.
I'm sure they are messing with our heads... the scene where Teacher Chadok presses Akk's shoulder and tells him to stay the course was just like the scene between Director Supot and Pang. At least Chadok doesn't have any Gifted powers (that we know of :) ).
And even so, most serious schools are cutting down on the abuse.
