This series is what you get when you mix a great concept, and horrible writing together
Started out great. An insecure, awkward character who's jealous of a fellow coworker who's seemingly perfect and great at everything he does, who turns out to be also a little awkward but more importantly, unapologetically in love with him! Really enjoyed the awkward unfiltered thoughts and all the little cute and sweet acts of service but then it stretched out too long, Karan hard carrying the romance with all the pining and infatuated glances while Achi always looking so uncomfortable and ready to run and he really fumbled Karan, hard.Karan was giving so much and Achi's giving nothing, and I get he's supposed to be this extremely insecure guy who's actually admirable because he does all these silent acts of service but aside from Karan's little flashbacks from his pov of why he liked Achi, it didn't really feel that way. A very hard sell especially with how that whole episode 8 played out. The way he reacted to Karan kneeling to apologize before someone who traumatized him gave NOTHING. I just found Achi's character so unlikable the more I watched and it stayed that way until the end.
In the end I don't believe Achi was able to match everything Karan gave and felt in the relationship, and I don't know if the acting is partly to blame but the bad writing 100% is.
Also, too much screentime for the side couple that I don't really care about. The whole show is extremely cheesy and feel good and I would've enjoyed it and rode the cringe if Achi was just a little bit more likable as a character.

Glad I watched the 2nd season
I had my doubts but in the end I'm glad I pushed through watching the 2nd season. It's honestly a pretty great sequel, considering.Where S1 is fun and sweet, S2 is passionate and intense. The plot is a mess, and the doctor side couple was skippable and I didn't really pay much attention, but I'm rating this higher because the leads' chemistry was somehow even better this season!
I realized after watching the sequel that I wouldn't have felt satisfied with S1 afterall even if it ended at a happy note (as in, that whackass open ending from S1 didn't exist). They got together pretty quickly after Shu Yi found out about the secret crush, and Gao Shi Deng had been so used to his one-sided feelings over Shu Yi for such a long time, it was inevitable he'll have doubts because pining for so long like that, fear and doubts almost become normal to you. I think about this a lot because one-sided pining is literally my topmost favorite trope EVER. So the falling off and then fighting hard for a 2nd chance was ultimately more satisfying than I expected it to be.

Cute leads, good chemistry and one-sided pining done right
A guilty pleasure drama that's sweet and short, with tropey main leads that could've easily been cringe but instead came off natural, and one-sided pining done right. One is chaotic evil, overly cute and charming but painfully unaware, and the other is the sweet, hopeless romantic who's been silently pining for him for most of their lives.Overall very fun and cute! The ending is wtf so I'm going to have to watch the 2nd season now for some closure even though I wasn't planning to, but okay whatever. I'm glad to see more of Gao Shi De lol.

Peak main couple chemistry, but not much else
Interesting premise that was never brought up again after the first episode. That said, this is an okay drama that you only really watch for the main leads’ acting and chemistry. The 7 stars is generous and it’s mainly for them, tbh I wouldn’t have watched this at all if I wasn’t already in love with Zhao Lusi. The writing is so ridiculous that it’s hilarious how cringe the dialogues are, you don’t even get annoyed atp you just find yourself cackling with laughter. Was this review helpful to you?

Objectively good show, though sadly it's not for me :(
Amazing acting from all the casts, good writing, good production, but sadly the main lead is too much of a "loser" to make the show enjoyable for me. Im Siwan also said himself this character had the lowest IQ among all characters he played. Despite that I still give this show a high rating and will recommend others to try.Was this review helpful to you?

Cute and fun drama good for passing time
If you plan to watch this show, go in with low expectations on the plot and writing.A cute and fun drama to watch when you’re in a slump and can’t decide on what drama to be emotionally invested in next. Interesting premise, light-hearted comedy but relatively heavy angst compared to most romcoms, depending on how much you feel for the FL (Ji Man). She’s this headstrong female lead that is determined to make a name for herself in business, but had to live under the shadow of Nie Sangyu’s (her twin) evil past after she lost her memories and their identities were swapped. Actress did great in portraying the feeling of intense guilt over actions you didn’t even know you did (and in reality didn’t) but people are pointing fingers at you for their trauma. I really felt for her.
Overall plot and writing is relatively weak, and the main CP’s chemistry was mid. But the acting of the main leads, the comedy and fluff, Ji Man’s story and Ding Yuxi all made it worth watching for me. Ding Yuxi’s expressive eyes can convince anyone that he thinks the actress he’s playing opposite from is the most beautiful woman in the world, so the romance works. I think I can watch him pine for his love interest anytime. He has the best “I’m in love” gaze from all c-actors I’ve watched.
I don’t really have much motivation to continue and finish this drama right now because I’ve already had my dose of fluff, but will probably pick it up again some other time.

A cute, funny, hella unserious romance if you're chill with dark concepts/tropes
Honestly how much you enjoy this show will likely highly depend on how chill you are with very dark concepts and tropes that are treated lightly in this supposed-to-be cute/funny romance. But I also like how unapologetically dark it is? Chi Cheng is not a good person, there's just no other way around it. He's definitely a glaring red flag but it's fiction and Tian Xuning makes the character work. No doubt the actors are hard carrying this with their chemistry and visuals (Tian Xuning doing most of the carrying lmbfr) because otherwise the budget is obviously low and the writing is all over the place messy and cringe. That said, I definitely recommend just for the guilty pleasure aspect of watching such an unserious and unapologetically "immoral" show like this. Most of the characters are extremely flawed in one way or another and that's part of the charm of it.

Horrible acting and even more horrible writing
So like a Thai BL take at What's Wrong With Secretary Kim but give it an embarrassingly bad script and make it so the boss has no redeeming quality other than his looks. Also just horrible writing overall. Tell me why they have like 10 restaurant meals in 1 episode. Was that necessary? The writer couldn't think of any other place where the characters can interact? I feel like I already watched 20 episodes with all the different restaurant scenes there was packed in one ep lol. Also, the actor for the boss is just downright horrible at acting. There's no defending it I'm sorry. Sometimes the cast saves a shockingly horribly written drama and this isn't one of those.
I thought maybe this might be one of those shows where it picks up on later episodes but seeing the reviews I don't think I'll be missing out on anything by skipping on this show.
