I felt this drama was unreasonably pessimistic. Female lead says her life is miserable but it's not. It seems that in male lead's perception humans just eat and sleep. That's too primitive. Still I would love this drama if it was shorter! It becomes dull because it's too long and repetitive... I dropped it for now but I may return to it later 'cause I'm curious to see what is going to happen with Lee Soo Hyuk's character. Props to this drama for making such unusual secondary love line !!!

I think breakup with Gu Bai Zhi gave Jiang Yu Cheng a difficult period in life. He even stopped writing for some years. But now he has just overcome his writer's block and released a succesful book. Returning to a relationship with her may mean returning to a depressive state he had so he's avoiding her. To my mind, Jiang Yu Cheng likes outgoing and light-hearted Chu Li for real because she's so different from his ex girlfriend not only in terms of character, but also in working methods.

Gu Bai Zhi is said to have lost her parents when she was young that's why I think she's so restrained. Growing up more mature she looked up to that pair of elder colleagues (I mean a granny who compiled a dictionary and her late husband). Talking to that Yun Fei guy about her ideal romance she repeated what the elder lady told her in a wheelchair in front of a clinic (about wavering trees in a park, light breeze and so on). I think Gu Bai Zhi is that type of person who believes in once in a lifetime love so she doesn't want to give up on Jiang Yu Cheng. She doesn't need anybody else.

I don't really know the website you've mentioned but I think that, unfortunately, the subs there are translated from Chinese into English using machine translator so all the lines are utter nonsense which makes the drama just impossible to watch :< Well, thanks anyway!!
