I think so too. He could do very well in morally grey or anti-hero male lead types. Hope he will be casted in these types roles with well-written scripts soon.

This is my first drama of him too. I'm very much impressed with his performance. I would like to see him in many more costume dramas, especially historical dramas.

It was probably his last (7th) mortal tribulation at the ending. So, he was born as a mortal again, as a young master based on his look. After he finishes and succeeds his mortal life, he could go back to the heavenly realm as an immortal aka God of War, Golden Qilin.

I wonder what kind of mortal Chu Kong is for 7th lifetime in the ending scene. I want to hear more story of it. If anyone has an idea or a guess, please feel free to tell me.
Young Master from a rich family? with artistic talent? good at literature / academics? martial arts too like Lu Chang Kong?

My short review :

After Destined (my fave costume c-drama of this year), I was into k-dramas and Thai dramas. I checked this drama randomly not knowing the story or any actors before. It was indeed a bit weak at first, but it got much better as the story is in progress. I haven't got completely into this drama yet until Shifu (Shengling sect) arc. Then I followed this drama closely and was active in this comment section too.

The last four episodes were kinda underwhelming for me. It is not first time in c-dramas, but when the ending is getting close, instead of wrapping things up properly, they added random plots. I'm ok with the ending (I expected things will be like this). But still I believe they should show more scenes and takes of ML as he deserves (I'm not saying it as his fan, I'm not one, maybe I will be one soon).

Some complained about the camera angle in the ending, I feel the same too. The viewers were already aware it's ML already. No need to hide him anymore. They should show his side more.

That's it. I will give high rating for this drama because I enjoyed it. It was fun talking with you guys here.

Yep. The whole scene was dumb. ZH should actually inform and join with CK before he did it. A lot of c-dramas have this kind of pointless sacrifice of side characters.

I do. Looks like she had been killed since she was a child. Jin Luo has been living as her since then. That's why I couldn't root for Jin Luo's happiness.
