I haven't watched the series you mentioned actually. And, no he doesn't know yet that she time travelled (upto 12eps)
And in later on eps tho he explains himself that he hit her because he knew her wounds heal faster than normal people cuz she's considered kinda semi celestial being here in this timeline.

But still. Even tho her wounds can heal faster 'later on' but the pain she had gone through while getting hit was same as any other person so that doesn't make sense acc to me.
