I'm not sure if they're going to follow the novel to the T, but the novel doesn't necessarily focused on their careers. If they do highlight their careers, I hope they'll do justice showcasing it.
I was planning to wait for better eng sub, but the show is just too gripping for me to delay watching it. I can't imagine my watching experience with better eng sub. T_T Such a pain to decipher what they are really saying most of the time.

I do agree on what you say but those you have listed are just made to be a bridge to reconnect both the leads. Eventually, the story will stray away from it.

I can't remember much from the novel, but as far as I remember, it wasn't a lot. For the drama, it seems that there will be more scenes of ML in the research institute based on the teasers/previews.
