Episode 30 was more calm and relaxing, we needed that. Now I'm curious to see how the romance will develop, because so far I can't like or root for them as a couple (poor Tan Tai Jin suffered too much). I thought it was unnecessary to put Gongye (Xiao Lin) in love with Su Su, I hate that kind of trope.

Yes, they made the ttz smoother and kept Xi Wu more like the novel, so she seems too cruel. Honestly from the beginning I have a hard time rooting for them and I had a hard time liking Xi Wu/SuSu (although I understand her mission). In the end, in his place, I wouldn't want to be with someone who did me so much harm.

I started watching episode 29 now and from the beginning I feel bad for Tan Tai Jin, even after all the pain Xi Wu caused him, he still loves her and believes that all the kind and gentle attitudes she had with him were true. I'm definitely not rooting for them, he deserves so much more and better. It pisses me off that he doesn't have any self-respect and continues to love someone who did this to him.
