Nah, he knows his second son is no threat to him, he doesn't have the wits.... But his reaction when he thought dojoon may buy hando steel, he turned cold cuz he knows dojoon is more than capable, he is the real threat .... And that's my friend what we call hypocrisy
I wonder if in the previous life, that shitty eldest son was the one responsible for the real dojoon accident and the whole family was covering it up that's why the mother demanded explanation in exchange of her soonyung shares... I think every detail the show makers throws at us will make sense in the upcoming episodes.
The scene where yang cheol tells to give soup to young ki got me like you can actually feel how much that matters…
Actually I saw it from a different angle... That soup scene was just a way of grandpa to tell his eldest son to shut up and stop bringing unnecessary matters that would spoil the mood hence the cold soup analogy, I mean anyone was eating the same freaking soup at the same time how come Yong ki's is the only one running cold ? Gramps is just a cruel businessman and a father.
I love this battle of wits... I don't care if the grandson and grandpa are on the same page, I love drama and suspense. Also, grandpa is not a saint himself, he is just too much of a self-centred businessman that sometimes it's not looking good for him, especially how he is raising his sons and grandsons.... How he treats his eldest one, instead of properly mentoring him, he just threw him into the waters and expected him to swim.... Not anyone has that innate gift of doing business like gramps here.... Also, how he treated that shitty eldest grandson in the 2nd episode, instead of holding him responsible for his wrongdoings, he just reminded him of his superior position and his expected behaviour! Like your other child grandson is a victim of violence and defamation here. How he denied dojoon's existence as a grandson in his face in ep 2 before dojoon proves his worth to grandpa he was destined to be kept in the dungeon of sooyaeng group/family How he denied his son in law a career in politics cuz of past accidents while he himself involved in the presidential race cuz he would benefit form it by being granted monopoly of semiconductors? Hypocrisy at its finest. And finally, grandpa likes smart dojoon but not when he is too smart to go against him. That subtle threat in the car was pathetic, like shouldn't you be proud to have a witty grandson that would acquire the company that your competitor is eyeing and you yourself can't afford? Grandpa threatens dojoon but accept his second's son betrayal as a business man move.... Hypocrisy as I said. That daeyeong chairman said something that struck me hard.... Daeyeong has 5 of him but soonyung has one of Jin yag cheol..... Chairman Jin aka grandpa doesn't want his sons to be smarter than him, he only wants them to be smart enough to protect and grow soonyung, he wants soonyung to be HIS legacy, he wants them to continue that legacy not claim it nor exceeding it. Dojoon, in his previous life, looked up to chairman Yang cheol but I think in this life he is realising that his role model was not as flawless as he thought he was. Anyways, can't wait for the upcoming episodes.... Now I have to go back studying, my head already hurts
Yang hua is the most adorable drunkard Ive ever seen and that sweet drunk confession melted even my heart...I can't imagine how it was for Qin shi . This drama is my oasis after a long day at work, and I don't care what anyone says about it being boring and slow, this is so soothing and soft and I am here for it.
Why do I feel like the culprit who killed PWS will be someone else than those presented to us as slightly suspicious or straight up evil? My head already hurts from studying, Reborn rich theoring and now this. I need a break
Just curious , how did do joon's mom had those 3% shares of soonyung in episode 1 before all this happened? I mean they were expelled from the main family, her (ex)husband and son were in show biz and would in no way acquire those shares and her younger son was dead. So did she inherit those shares from her younger son or got them as a divorce settlement or what exactly?
If this drama is not your cup of tea, if you don't like the leads, the story, the age gap, the 40ish episodes, the editing and whatever it's that people are commenting on repeat like a broken record, feel free to drop this.... And go watch other shows or even better tiktok clips.
However if you believe age is just a number, if you like slow burn romance, sprinkles of comedy and a slice of life drama, if you are a fan of Pinterest aesthetics and love ootd insta posts, and a sucker for actors that are equally good and gorgeous... This drama is for YOU

Also, I am crossing my fingers to have longer episodes this weekend... Episode 3 was too short for my taste
