Since the casting is not confirmed I hope Li Xian gets offered the role I can totally see him as the male lead…
Li Xian is a REALLY good choice, but JINGYU...OMG! Hard to choose

Hi!! You said you wanted to watch the leads acting together as a couple in a modern drama, and they did it!! It was released last year: You Are My Destiny - is a remake of a korean drama Fated To Love You (2014). I didnt watch this chinese version yet (planning to start very soon) but I did watch the korean and loved it!

I do this all the time!!! And it sure helps me to get a hold of my memory. I notice this happens more often in Chinese Dramas then in Korean Dramas...btw, I loved this topic!!

Dude.... I'm on ep 24 and I'm struggling to keep going....but I'm not one to give up halfway through... Hua Hua IS THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER I'VE SEEN OF ALL DRAMAS I'VE WATCHED!!! She screwed up too much with all her friends!!! So immature and totally deluded about her real relationship with Xing Tian Ming......I'm against violence, but she deserved some slaps!

I know right! Just reading their synopsis makes you yawn already... same tropes. We only watch them cos so and…
man...this is lame....I'm from Brazil and here we have a saying ( among us feminists): "A woman needs a man as much as a fish needs a bicycle!"LMAO
I like Qin Lan a lot, and I'm very interested in noona romance because I'm actually living a noona romance!
Rational Life is on my list, thanks for the tip!

OMG I've never heard of this term until I watch this drama. Its awful!! At first I though: it must be horrible to live in a culture where women are seen only for the purpose of belonging to a family, having children and taking care of a husband....then I realized that ALL women live this way. A few more other les depending where you live. But the role that is expected of us is always this one. That's why I was so in love with this drama, the FL fights for what she believes that is going to make her happy, despite of all criticisms. (even though she was taking a while to decide, but if that weren't so we wouldn't have drama!)

I've never thought of that censorship issue!!! It totally makes sense. Its really a shame, bcs they have money, good actors and some good dramas ( what proves that they also have pretty good writers!!). I just finished one of my new favorite Cdrama : Find Yourself, is a must watch! It talks about divorce, single parenting, prejudice against age gap relationship, friendship and family issues. Is very well written, I liked a lot! IF u didn't watch it, give it a try!! Another one I recommend is We are all alone ( it's about the entertainment industry)

Thank you so much for ur article!! I was so hopeless about Chinese Romantic dramas, tired of the same tropes - like you said. I just bookmarked this one, I'll definitely like it!!

U are a Virgo, right????LOL
I've never seen a so "well done organized and yet pleasant to the eyes article". I started to watch CDramas bcs I'm learning madarim, but I always thought they lacked at something... somehow, I get used to it and now I barely watch KDramas...lol . I luv the way u categorized the dramas, so easy to relate! I don't know if u watched The Love by Hypnotic (Romance/Historical/Arranged Marriage/ Love-hate relationship) but, considering the titles of ur list, I think u might like it if u try!!

I really enjoyed ur article, so well written!!!! I had a HUGE SLS watching A Love So Beautiful and She Was Pretty (man....that was though: how are u supposed to choose between Park Seo Joon and Choi Shi Won??? When one is ur first love and the other is the guy who is always beside u and supports u...I guess this was the biggest SLS I had)

I watched this Ding Mo's dramas: Love me if you dare, Memory Lost (1,2,3) and When a snail falls in love and I enjoyed all of then. The last one was very different form the novel, but also good. They are all thriller/action/romance dramas and their storyline is good. Give it a try, specially Love me if you Dare (Sandra Ma plays the FL, I'm a big fan)

Title Run On
It's really sweet, although its very realistic as well. The dialogues take turns: funny, quick-witted, touching... Every episode catched me on a different way. The ending is so fresh... I don't remeber any clousure even related to this one! I enjoyed sooo much and greatly recommend this drama!!

I loved this show and I loved your review !!!!! You said everything I wanted to say and everything I thought while watching it! This drama really touched me because I've had some life issues portrayed in it (I am a 40 year old divorced woman). So, it was like rewatching some parts of my own life from a different perspective. I was really hooked by Jo Hin because she was very mature ... If I had half of her maturity, I'm sure I could have done better ... It really is a must watch as you said and it's definitely linked to my top 5 list!

I'll give it a try on Empress Ki (I've been holding it for quite a while) cause i'm a huge fan of Chang-Wook and I totally understand when You say that he's been doing the same role over and over. I also agree that he's a very skilled actor so, despite I don't like seeing historical dramas, I'll watch this one!
