I'm watching both as well but I like A Dream Within a Dream more. It is very entertaining. The Princess's Gambit kind a lost me after the cliff scene.

Episodes 29 and 30 are amazing with some emotional scenes and yet we still get some good comedy!

Episode 30:
Nan Rui: If you can't be promoted to the position of chief steward, will you still work for me?
Ji Xiang: Your highness, that position is usually filled by an eunuch.
Nan Rui: Hah??
Ji Xiang: I'm not an eunuch.

Well if you like male centric, marial arts and
Zhang Ruo Yun, then try Sword Snow Stride. This one is another high rewatch value. I love the ML character here too. I also highly recommend The Blood of Youth. And if you're into polical, revenge, power struggle and smart ML, then try Nirvana In Fire.

Yep this drama is up there for me too. 🙌 I enjoyed season 2 just as much. The rewatch value for JOL is super high and I've watched it a few times already. 😄

I'm thinking NH was the intended target as well. And Emperor is not showing his true favorites in order to protect NH.

You really have a good point. I can't imagine a sane Emperor would want to pass down his kingdom to someone like Nan Rui who is so NOT emperor materials. Nan Rui could only be a puppet emperor and would ruin their legacy.
